Wholesale, Openreach, who gives a f****g f**k. It's all BT.
Well done on proving your point. :rolleyes:I don't know what your experience is of not being a BT customer, so "in my experience" doesn't tell me much. Have you ever actually been at the receiving end of BT Wholesale, sorry Openreach, prioritisation?
I have been a customer with Virgin (well, Telewest), Talk Talk, Phone Co Op, Tiscali, Toucan and Plusnet in the last 5 years. Thats as well as BT obviously. If you pay extra for something, eg a paper bill, than you would pay without it, then that's a charge in my book. But if you want to call it a discount, be my guest. Why not take up part-time work spinning for the Government?
Jeez, nothing more needs saying really. Why not visit the Scams forum, (go South in the menu), find the BT thread, and give them the benefit of your knowldge about BT?
I rarely leave the phones and Internet forums, so I didnt even know anyone was complaining in there. I will have a look see how I can help in the next days or so.The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
Be nice if existing customers were also told, wouldn't it, and not just by an announcement buried in a ream of drivel about how wonderful BT is sent with the bill.
I think all BT line rental customers have been individually written too regarding the changes in line rental, the paper free billing option and other tariff changes.
Certainly I have received a letter for each line/account I have with BT.

Yeah, my Mom, sister and friend all received the letter, came through within a couple of days of the announcement on the web. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Changes to BT's pricing from 1st April 08
Do the customers on option 2 at present start to pay £2.70 per month for unlimited evening & weekend plan, while option 1 customers can upgrade to same plan for free.0 -

If this is the case I suspect the option 2 customers should be up in arms.
May only be free for the first 12 months.0 -

If you are paying for Option 2 then yes, your monthly cost for it will go down to £2.70.
If you are currently on a 'month to month' basis on BT Option 2 (i.e. not in some special 12/18 month deal) then you could change and get it free just like BT Option 1 customers (subject to the same 12 month contract)

A couple of questions have arisen:
1. There was a suggestion that BT's online bill is different from their paper bill. i.e. contains lest detail. Is this correct or have I misunderstood?
Its not correct - if anything BT Online billing gives you more information than paper billing.
As I posted some time ago if you currently receive paper bills from BT, you can register on the BT website and see most of what if offered by BTs online bills without having to actually switch to 'paper free' billing - which you can then do later if you are satisfied.

Being on the Unlimited Weekend Plan means evening calls are 6p plus 1.5p per minute - 96p for the first hour. On the Line Rental Plan the first hour is 4.5p. Is that why you doubt BT will move anyone over to it?
No - I suspect that it will be mainly as they don't want to waste IT resources on deciding who to move tariff, notifying them etc and then having to reserve the position if a customer then starts making chargeable calls..
Unless, of course, they find that quite a few people never make any calls on BT during the week and then make dozens on the weekend but even then I have my doubts that they will try very hard..

Nope - have received nothing from BT on any of the lines we have re the price changes on 1st Feb or 1st April.
Know of several other people who haven't got anything yet either (some use BT for all calls - others for line rental only).0
