Would it be a good saving to do big shop online (especially if you use one of the codes on the vouchers thread)? I see Asda are doing £10 off a £50 shop, and Waitrose are doing a similar thing. That way you might be more disciplined and stick to a list as there wouln't be as much to tempt you. I haven't tried Internet shopping yet, but I am going to in order to keep to budget in July.
(I am also going to try redeeming more money off vouchers in Waitrose to meet pin money savings - I'd like to free up a little cash for the Summer holidays.)0 -
re the ingredients, this may be a bit late but how about:
1. Eat the smoked salmon and drink a glass of chilled white wine:beer:
2. chop the red onion, fry it briefly, add tomatoes peeled (if you want) and chopped and cook for 5 mins till not too watery. Mix in the tapenade and serve with the pasta.
3.Tomorrow have the mushroom and truffle sauce with some more pasta!0 -

I agree. If you are a bit trolly happy and are easily led astray with store offers it is better to shop online. However, if you can control yourself the better deals are instore cos online you tend to stick to the brands you have bought before rather than buy the best value that week, plus they accept internet printed coupons which you can't submit online.Life's a beach! I don't think I've really got enough money left to do a big internet shop at the moment. Luckily I can be quite disciplined in the stores if I've got my list with me - it's not having a list that leads me astray!
As for dinner tonight, I think I'm going to go with the two course option, starting with the salmon and wine. It'll be a real treat and I can sit there feeling all virtuous because I didn't stop off at the supermarket on the way home. I was really nervous about having to deprive myself in order to kick start the OS lifestyle again but this doesn't seem too bad at all. Granted, I won't be living on smoked salmon forever (I wish!!!) but at least it'll help me through the next couple of days as I try to get my head around moneysaving.0 -

I've had wine! I've had wine! Mmmmmm. No lists done though. Just bodged up 2 Su Doku grids though thanks to white wine. My brain is frazzled.
Our moneysaving list for this weekend's shop is:
milk
fruit (bananas, apples, something else that looks yummy)
