  • Hi Stiltoncheese! I too have fallen off the band wagon of late...just been a really stressful couple of months that involved comfort eating takeaways and easy to cook food. This has not only overstretched my budget, but also my waistline! Can I join you in your quest to get back to the frugal way of life?
  • Please do Smookle :) I always find it easier and more motivating when it's not just me doing it!!

I used to love cooking but easy cook food has become my mainstay for so long now it's silly. Figured now the weather is cooling off and autumn is coming, I can make more use of the slow cooker and more comfort filling foods that I've done myself.

I'm making home-made fish pie tonight using some cod I got on offer, so hopefully some leftovers to freeze if hubby doesn't get to them first!

    Good luck Stilton!

Having a plan really helps - have you seen the Lost my OS Ways post? That's got a really good supportive atmosphere and everyone is trying to reclaim lost skills :-)

  • Oh no, how come my thread got merged into an old one? I was hoping to have it as a kind of OS diary :(
