I haven't read much of the thread yet but was interested in the can't be bothered days. When my older kids were young Sunday was my bad day so I started buying pies for Sunday tea. I let the kids put them in the oven and warm the beans or whatever we were having with them and sometimes even dh would do them.
Sunday is still not a good day for me but I do muster up the energy now, we eat later than normal so I have a sleep in the afternoon and it helps. I think it is end of the week burnout.0 -
Hi!
Firstly, I just wanted to say that I think it happens to a lot of us. I'm just coming out of one of those periods. I'm not sure *how* I came out of it to be honest.
Although, things just came to a head, I had a huge hissy tantrum and went and made some scones to get out of the way of the kids throttling each other. Then I made some pizzas, and some egg mayonnaise for dh's sandwiches. All in one evening! That's after a long period of just sitting and waiting for someone else to have the motivation to feed us all (thankfully dh does it when I'm on one!).
The one thing that might be good is to find a fail proof recipe that you fancy doing, the cranberry and orange scones I made were easy and worked really well. I was proud of myself! Then sit and eat them all if you want to
After you've done that, it might kickstart you. But do make sure you do something that's not essential and that you have time to enjoy doing if you can, rather than chore type cooking.
Hopefully you'll realise it will come back, as someone else said, burning out is probably the main reason we all lose interest in cooking. Especially if everyone is expecting you to do it without much thanks and you're stuck in a rut.
The takeaway habit isn't great I know for lots of reasons, but don't kick yourself about it. I'm coming to terms with beans on toast being fine for tea for the lot of us. Sometimes I do expect too much of myself and that's when I get to the takeaway stage (I'm fat and we're skint, it's complete self sabotage and really illogical!)
Anyway, I'm sure everyone on here will agree that it's normal!
I hope you feel better about stuffs soon, sending you big hugs xxxx0 -

Hi everyone Ok I was on here a lot about a year ago. I was doing really well Fly ladyed my house and it did not look to bad. I was also alright with money I had no Debts and in fact had saved money. Then I started not to come on here so much and then not at all. I am now looking at my bank and I have a £400 credit card a car that I have got for £3000 bank loan and an overdraft of £200 and thinking o my where has it all gone wrong
Think it might have been when I stopped coming on here. Now I need to try and work out how I am going to make my money and the house ok again.
Anyway lesson to my story DO NOT stop coming on here and talking to like minded people as all to soon you xan end up spending way to muchFebruary GC £261.97/24 NSDS 10/12

To be honest, I think your debts are quite modest and most likely pretty under control if you don't get spendy again.
DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP! Just put a new plan together and knuckle down. You know you can do it because you've done it before, so therefore you've got a head-start on lots of us. Oh, and stick around to keep your motivation up and enjoy the company.
Good luck to you0 -
Skintmum don't beat yourself up. Few people have the money up front to buy a car. Welcome back and let us help you beat that credit card into shape. It shouldn't take too long.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I know my debt does not seem like a lot I think the thing that scared me is when I started thinking O it's ok it's a credit card that does not count and a takeaway seems such a good idea lol. I think I can sort what I have at the mo however I think and am quite tempted to just keep spending so I need to be firm with myselfFebruary GC £261.97/24 NSDS 10/12
