I wasn't going to respond to this , but when you decided that this was the rudest forum ever after one of your fellow posters called another poster "gobby", I just have to.

I've no doubt you'll know who I am, if you think about it. But I had to come up for the brides to be here. I'm a cake maker too-Ive made wonderful memories from my years with fellow swans-but Im a bit embarrassed at the moment to say "I have had the pleasure " as have other posters on this very thread.

I got married this year, made my own cake and wore my own dress...I had help from both sides. Please step back and think about the aims of your origins as well as the origins of this site...I think theres a trick in the name-moneysavingexpert....

And yes, even though I share your passion I would have been offended if you called me gobby because I did not share your opinion. After all, you didn't like the fact that she didn't like your opinion-agree to disagree. Im hoping I haven't burned my bridges here-but oh well if I have...I still have my chair nutter down at the manor house.

has anyone heard of forum trolls? think this is what those people are- trolls are people that come on to forums- say something very stupid, and then just laugh at the reaction. lets just all report them to MSE and ignore what they are saying

The sad thing is they are not. They are cake decorators and they are very passionate about their craft. This is why I posted what I did.

Can I apologise to you lovelies for it-from the point of view of someone who is passionate about the craft and is passionate about the work Martin and every other poster on this site do. I think sometimes hard times make us do and say things we wouldn't normally, and sadly a very real frustration has been misdirected. I promise that most bespoke cake makers are just frustrated bodies just like most posters on this site-but sadly misinformed, thinking that the site is about getting things at the cheapest possible rate, rather than getting the best possible value from the most reasonable price (as Martin regularly reminds us)
