I love this thread..is it just me who keeps running up and down stairs looking in the old 'stored' toy boxes :o

I did sell an old transformer toy recently that i saved from a bag that my son was about to chuck out. It was an old cheetah thing, not boxed and it had been played with quite a bit. I think I only got £7 for it, which was less than it cost when new, but I really had been about to chuck it away.

Oh yes, and old cine films...the Americans love them!

we all have sad habits/hobbies when viewed from another peeps shoes.
i have a small collection of EFE buses and some cars/lorries. the wife thinks im crazy.
but then again i think train spotters are as nutty as a bag of coal, as are shoe collectors, shopaholics, dancers, fashion victims, sunbed users, vegans, etc. the list is endless.
ps my wife is guilty of nearly all the above.:)

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Blythe dolls by Kenner - they were only out for around a year in 1972, although they've been revived recently. This one (sold today on ebay) was in its original box but unboxed they still fetch three figure sums.

    Blythe Kenner

I had two, which I've still got - a red haired one in original dress (one recently sold on ebay.com for over £600 in its original box) and a dark haired one. Not tempted to sell them though, because I just like the look of them.

I know this is strange..but yes they might!

Look up cine films in the completed listings, some old stuff from the 1960s-1970s does sell. I have absolutely no idea why. I saw some being sold last year of a family holiday somewhere in Wales in the 1960s that went for around the £20 mark.

hhaa thats hilarious!! now would that fall into the same catagory as worn shoes and underwear? lol

I don't think i would want someone else having a cinefilm of me!! you never know who is going to get their hands on them! i'm only a baby on them anyways!

    I have one too :)

I was sooooo lucky though as I found mine at a car boot sale - or rather, my son did. We were selling (for once) and my son wandered off to have a look around on his own and came back with it as 'it looked weird and the sort of thing I would like'. I had coveted one for so long but could not bring myself to spend the sort of money that they cost, on one. The best bit was it cost my son just £2 :j:T

Who are these people who pay absurd amounts for old toys? What do they do with them? Are they for their children or just collectables, or do people buy them thinking they are going to be worth more later??

Never really got the whole collecting thing at all ??
I think it's a nostalgia thing for a lot of people whose parents disposed of their favourite toys before they'd completely outgrown them.
