    Hello folks

Well that's my new year's resolution broken... the one of logging in every day. I only lasted 25 days :(

On Friday night MrsA decided she was going to take me, her parents and her brother out for a meal to say thanks for the assistance (as if thanks was needed). Anyway, that went down well, helped along by lotsa beer and wine. Then on Saturday I got my new credit card from Abbey so went to buy a TV from Tesco in order to use the 5% cashback. As it turned out (cut a long story short) I pulled a right old DTD flanker that I can't really justify myself but the manager bought it so stuff em :) That meant getting a £500 TV for £400, even before the 5% came off.

Well, when you get your first ever widescreen 37" TV you gotta have pizza and chips to enjoy the experience, eh? :o

So here I am, Monday morning and hoping that I can gain 3lb this week - that will be perfect as it will mean a 5lb loss for the month which is what a want - to get a sustainable loss. 5lb a month every month will mean target before I go on holiday in May.

    How's everyone?

EDIT: Lunch today is a Quorn Hotpot - even I've never seen one of those before. It's only 4 WW points so I'm really quite excited - I'll let you know how it goes :D

WISHIWASRICH please don't make a habit of that fruit-only thing. You need a balanced diet.

Hi peeps, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Pixiedust - breakfast is so important, but if you really can't face it then anything is better than nothing. A glass of milk, or even a boiled sweet! I don't know what time you eat your evening meal but maybe if you eat a bit earlier in the evening with no late snacking (not saying you do this!), you'll be hungrier at breakfast time? Let us know how you get on anyway!

KPC - glad you're back up and about :D

Raphael/Seren - at that tv programme!!!

Hi Gpuk, sorry about the car, there's never a good time to receive a £1000 repair bill... hope it's a lot less than that for you though. Mmm crumpets that's a good idea for brekkie :D

Wishiwasrich - is 10 stone (in your sig) your target weight or current weight? I think radical "kick start" days are only for BMI25 and over? Can't remember where I read that though :p

Hey HannaB, please don't be gutted about the gain, at least you know how it happened and where you can cut back. Like you say, your overall stats for the month are just GREAT!

Hi Ajax, nice to see you back! I don't know what a DTD flanker is :o

Going to weigh in now, an hour early because I need to get on with other stuff today.

Okay, another Monday, another weigh in and another sigh of being disheartened. Since January 1st 2007 I have lost 4.5 whole POUNDS! I have put pounds back on this week and I am now back up to 20-11.5 (291.5 lb or 132.2 kg) this is not shaping up for being a good year to lose 28 pounds so far!

I thought last week was going to be good - lots of healthy fruit and veg (tick), lots of water (tick), make sure I don't exceed my calories (tick), take no pain killers (nuh huh) and that last one is the killer folks - everything else runs smoothly and then medication screws it over!

Still another week about to start and by Monday of next week I would LIKE to be below 20-7 - February challenge here I come!
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

Hi Dragon... Is a 4.5lb loss since January 1st not a good thing? That's more than 1lb per week and almost double the pace you need to lose 28lb in a year! Perhaps I am misunderstanding but it seems good to me?

Anyway 1lb gain for me this week (for the chart please Grannynise). I went over my calories on Monday and Wednesday of last week, and probably over-compensated by eating too little at the weekend. I didn't overeat when you take it as average per day, but I gained anyway so there we go! Did notice my water % is up (highest ever reading) on the scales so perhaps that has something to do with it too.

I won't let it bother me this week because it brings me back to 8 stone exactly so I'm back in my maintain range, but I don't want to see a gain two weeks running so I am cutting my calories back down to 1250/day.

For anyone that has the analyser scales, do your body fat %, water % and muscle % add up to more than 100%? Isn't it supposed to be a % of your body weight as a whole and if so, surely it should add up to 100% no matter what?

p.s. It's my first gain since joining this forum! :D

    Morning all!
Don't be disheartened peeps, this is an up and down challenge, it's just the way it goes. I am having similar problems and am refocusing from today now that we are settling in here. I've been to my relaxation class, which was great, and have had porridge with banana, yoghurt and honey for brekkie. Which reminds me, if you struggle to eat breakfast (me too these days) then eating earlier in the evening is the way forward; also, make yourself a smoothie - almost like a drink and packed full of goodness but you don't feel like you're eating. Don't forget to eat some protein with fruit to keep blood sugars more stable/hunger pangs at bay.
Edit: Miss-yyyyyy *adopts stern teacher look* you can't fool me - last week was about just getting below the 8 stone once so a gain this week is good. Don't be reducing your calories or you'll dip below again. Go and stand in the naughty corner ;) As for the numbers not adding up to 100%, I was going to ask the same question! Confused

... sorry to highlight that Dragon, it was only for clarity of reading, honest! Maybe if you are not losing, it just shows that you, within yourself, don't really want to lose? I'm sure that when you really put your all into it, it will be fine.

Actually I misread that too :o Medication really can play havoc with WL too though...
Sorry you're finding it so hard Dragon, I don't have any answers I'm afraid but a big one of these is coming your way :grouphug:
BB, how was the picnic by the sea? And Suggs, good weekend? Ajax, great to have you back! Seeing you has reminded me about MB - might schedule in another go this week.

Sorry Dragon... :( Thanks for that Ajax, I'd probably still be re-reading if you hadn't pointed it out!

Bails, please may I leave the naughty corner so I can have lunch? :p
