  • Ok, really, Vix, far too much information about that customer! Eww!

This week, I'm going to try to remember to eat breakfasts.... I'm not very good at it normally, I don't like much cereal, and I can't normally be bothered to stand around waiting for the toaster lol. And it won't start tomorrow cos I never went shopping today (oops.). But yeah, starting Tuesday, will be making sure I remember to have breakfast before running off to uni... Someone suggested it might make the dieting thing easier, I'm not convinced, normally if I eat breakfast I end up feeling hungry all day, and if I don't, then I'm happy just eating lunch and dinner, but I'll give it a go!

Pix - I've never been a great one for but since the diet I have realised that it is very important. You may well find you are thirsty rather than hungry after eating it.
I often have 4 pieces of fruit for brekkie as it means I can munch them a little at a time. Other alternatives could be a small roll with a thin spread of extra light philly or a yoghurt and some fruit, a roll with some sliced ham or chicken - no butter.

I also do the Rosemary Conley thing of a "power snack" between meals ie an apple or a couple of clems, this just helps bring your blood sugar level back up until your next meal.

  • Thanks for the suggestions jules, it'll prob end up being fruit - I'm not eating enough of it at the moment, so it'll help with both then!

  • The one image I can't get out of my head when I swing round to the thought that adults should know enough by now...is when watching Jamie olivers school meals programs and see the mums feeding junk food to their kids through the playground fence....

I just love the fact that the reason the parents give for buying the kids chips etc is because...

"We want to make sure the kids eat proper food."!!!:rotfl:

Hi everyone, just been catching up with all the new posts. Haven't been on for a while as i've been stressing over my car! She broke down on friday and the garage are coming to tow her away tomorrow looks like it's engine/valve/piston related and is a vw so probably looking at the nasty end of £1000    . So don't need this right now as I was just starting to sort all my finances out  (R.I.P Tallulah):cry:

Anyway, enough of me moaning, welcome :j all newbies well done for taking your first steps into weight loss, this group is fun to be a part of and has some excellent advice from people who know what it's like to yo-yo/fad diet and also doing it properly and succeeding! Everyone is very friendly and sometimes naughty (where is Ajax)??!??

KPC glad your feeling better again! BB hope you enjoyed seaford I live in Brighton also and I love the sea! Vix that woman souded vile do you think you would have offended her if you had popped out and returned wearing rubber gloves and a nose peg??:rotfl: Pix Since I started trying to lose weigh I have had to 'force' down breakfast most days as it normally makes me feel sick eating so early but what I have found now is that I never eat after 8/9pm and then after a few weeks I have actually started to wake up hungry!!?! So now I want it! I think it's just a routine change, also I try to vary my breakfasts between special k / coffee and 2 crumpets with low fat peanut butter or low sugar jam / scrambled eggs and toast etc otherwise I end up getting bored!

Good luck to peeps that are weighing in mon-tues and good luck most others for wed (sat for suggs - am I right)? Oh and WELL DONE suggs what a fantastic acheivment you really are an inspiration and I can't wait to see your pics on thread 19 as you have promised, no backing out!! :D
    Goal weight....lighter than when I started :D
  • Hi Guys,

    Hey all.

I hope everyone is okay on this fogging Monday morning (fogging in the South anyway).

Just reporting a 1lb gain for this week. Absolutely gutted! Although it could have been worse, I have effectively had a "week off" from the diet/lifestyle change/new me. Snacking on choccy digestives, etc. I read somewhere that people are likely to stick to "diets" for 3 weeks and then quit. Last week was my 4th week.

I ain't no quitter, Gosh darnit!

Positive note. If I lose 6lbs every 4 weeks, I'm still on target for the end of April.:D

Hanna it is the lack of variety that gets to people and the missing out on foods, keep the different coloured flavoursome foods coming, the exercise up and the odd treat here and there and it doesn't seem such a chore rather more than a good healthy balanced diet that has positive energy boosts to you and your body:D
