Morning everyone,
Got first weeks weigh in tomorrow morning - hopefully I have been good enough to get a decent weight loss but who knows
Weighed myself on home scales this morning and they show a loss of about 5lbs! But as I don't know how they compare to the scales at WW I don't hold out much hope of it being the same at WW tomorrow!
Grannynise would you put me on the chart too please when I have posted my result tomorrow?
Keep up the good work everyone and don't get down if you've gained or ss - tomorrow is a new day;)Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

missyg I don't drink either and when I go to the inlaws they know that but they drink and go on and on about how you have to join in, let your hair down, have fun, just one, etc, I have heard them all and now I don't bother getting annoyed I just smile and say that I can't because of my medication and that stops them....eventually:rotfl:it is possible to have fun without drinking but they don't agree:rolleyes:

Hi Guys
I have updated the Losing Weight Recipes Collection (at last!)
I will check regularly and index any additionsI haven't got one!0 -
a sts this week please granny. This is good - I am fluctuating in the week up and down the same lb so quite happy with that. Obviously I secretly would like the wi day to be the one that I've lost the adddtional lb again:rolleyes: , but today isn't one of those days. And in the interest of honesty and encouraging the rest of you peeps:p I have recorded it 'as it is' today. It so helps having the chart here -it is a motivator for me - I know I will be extra careful again until the lb drops down on to my target weight.
Granny I know it's frustrating re the quick on ,slower off. But, this is excellent practice for maintaining ( and you will be a maintainer by September). You are proving to yourself that you can go away and have a good time and then get back on track to lose what you put on.
Fantastic - 2 more tee-totallers. I am not alone:j . People are so odd about alcohol (I don't disapprove of it by the way - just never liked the taste). I am very capable of laughing and having a good time without it:j . Never had a hang over in my life. Too much illness to contend with - I don't need self induced carpness thanks:rotfl: .
Haven't quite started on the ebaying yet missyg - will set a target to sort out 3 things today though, thanks for the push (keep doing it please:o ). Thanks for kind words re work. Yes, friends were very shocked how quickly I deteriorated to complete disability - it was truely traumatic and shocking. It makes any recovery all the sweeter.
Efrieze - delighted for you re the 4 lb loss. We can do this maintaining thing and have a life:j Is it worth jotting down somehwere this gain and how you got it off and how long it took and then each time you do this? (Because life happens, so you will put on a little again at some point - that's normal).
That way you build a record of your sucess in maintaining that you can look back onover the coming year when you feel full of doubt and fear?
Nessa - re red days, perhaps try not to combine carbs with protein on those days. I have no carbs with my evening meal on a red day (it's ok peeps, I have my quota at a different part of the day - I'm not cutting out any food group) and I feel very full with just meat and veg. Don't forget you can have as much meat as you need.
Gpuk - great loss and well done re the running. Do run along the sea front?
You go for that pasta marion!:D . Then when you feel the craving is sated, after a day or two, maybe cut back a little and see what effect that has re weight loss. Roar away
Yeah Hannah, it's all in the planning. I failed, unusually, to plan for lunch yesterday so succumbed to a large (very) sausage roll at the corner shop!
Right, off to sort 3 things for ebay...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

And another one here! I wish I did enjoy a class of wine once in a while but I just don't like it. Always seemed like a saving on the calories and the pocket too!Brighton_belle wrote: »Efrieze - delighted for you re the 4 lb loss. I have a spreasheet, only I don't review it when I am eating too much, only when I am on the way down again !!!
And not yet a maintainer, I still have a bit more to lose just not sure how much.0 -
Thanks Brighton Belle I will try that, I have decided I am going to have a Red Weekend.
Got my weigh in tonight so we will see what we will see

gpuk, i get that too - I just slacken off till it goes. Godd advice from missy about getting it checked out. I've heard people talking about shin splints but I don't know what it is.
yay efrieze! we knew you could do it!
I too am a not drinker. I don't have any highminded reasons for it though - I used to drink socially, didn't for a while as some of hte crowd i was running with were developing some spectacular alcohol problems. When I went backt o it I found that in the space of 2 drinks i skip the fun part of being a bit squiffy and go strainght to room-spinning-feel-sick. I can also be a bit mean when drunk, I say those things that the rest of the time you just think to yourself.
nessa, I'm having a red weekend, i find that savaging a rotisserie chicken helps enormously with that whole 'getting enough to eat' thing. Smoked salmon trimmings and scrambled eggs for breakfast is also good. It is easier to graze on green, but red days are good too. I often have red days during the week because part of my job is eating cooked meats. I put a recipe for a lamb moussaka on the recipe thread that is free on red and well worth a try.
Just been over to the recipe thread - Claireabelle, your soup recipe sounds yummy, but where are the butterbeans?0 -
You don't know how happy I am to find I'm not the only non-drinker here!!! Usually when I mention it, the reactions are "is it for religious reasons?" "Did you have a bad experience with alcohol?" "were you/your parents alcoholic?" "Are you pregnant?" "Are you on medication?" "Are you in some kind of weird cult?" "Surely you must have had at least one in your life?"
Answer: None of the above!!!
And then there's the people who think it's their duty to give me my first sip of alcohol
As a non-smoker I don't get grilled for never having had a cigarette, so what is it about drink?0 -
I guess it is unusual in this country (with such a pub culture) not to have ever tried alcohol - usually this is for a specific reason rather than no reason at all. I am rather proud of the fact that i don't drink - no reason other than I prefer the taste of diet coke.0
