Hannah – do you know why you have stayed the same? (and hello fellow amateur novelist)

Yeah, I know why (sigh!), choosing the food that's hanging around (blimming biscuits and Waitrose Chocolate Cheesecake!) as opposed to going out and choosing healthier food. My plan for next week is to bring cereal bars to work to avoid temptation.

Hi everybody I have lost 2 lbs this week sooo close to my first stone......
I can smell it lol! Going to the gym again today, really enjoying it and I tried that walk-run thing that someone was saying about and I did 20 mins 7 of it running which is the most I have ever managed so I was really pleased and it really does work! One question, when I run after a while I get a really sharp pain running down the front of my leg (knee down and only on 1 side) does anyone know why this is??
Congrats to all the losers this week and hugs to all the non losers!:j
    Goal weight....lighter than when I started :D

Lost 2lb of the 5lb that I put on last week. Sigh. Can put it on in a few days, why does it take so much longer to come off again?

gs I know it takes time to get it off but you managed 2lb of the 5lb so that is something to be pleased about, it is coming off and that is a good sign:D

boddy being at the gym will make that 1lb go in no time

I agree with what you are saying about the word 'diet' it sounds so alienating and restrictive, I use 'healthy eating' or recently come up with another that people don't question when they try to make you join in with them over a huge slice of birthday choc cake etc 'no thanks it doesn't agree with me ' leave it like that or add an allergy to it if needs be, if they still insist and then they finally drop it:D

Did you see last night on superskinny v super thin? The woman following faddy diets drank maple syrup, water and cayenne pepper 3 times a day only that, she tried it for a bit but then couldn't do it anymore, said it tasted disgusting and was only 150 cals each drink, not good:eek:

  • Hi Marion,

I also do SW and to be honest I don't know where your consultant is coming from. I do mostly green days and have managed to loss 1st 3lbs since January. Our consultant tells us you're not allowed to do continuous red, you have to have one green a week, is this the same for everyone? She also says that too much fruit wouldn't cause you to gain but it can slow down your weight loss. She encourages us to stick to the "bulk" foods i.e lots of pasta (which, luckily, I love:T ) or of course meat on red days.

If I'm having a tough week I find it sometimes helps to read through the magazine or some recipe books for inspiration.

Don't give up and good luck this week!

Oh MY! No she says quite the opposite! She said if you must have a green day or if you are a vegetarian you should fill up on the vegetables and limit the amount of pasta, rice etc.

I had slimming world chips last night and they tasted soo good!! Today I am going to have a pasta bake with home made sauce so it will be sin free and I am going to eat a bl**dy huge portion!! This mouse is starting to roar!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Love
    Marion

    Morning all

Victory don't you worry luv, you babble away as much as you like, it helps to share

Brighton Belle I don't know what it was about red days, but, I found I was constantly hungry, maybe cos I had got used to all the pasta and potatoes on the Green days.

Shame really cos I love meat also and if I can get my head round the red days am sure I would be happier on them especially on the weekends. I guess I will just have to persevere.

    Morning everyone

BB, congrats on going back to work! So glad it went well :D It's so lovely to see that you're getting better, I was so concerned about you a few weeks back and it's great to see such an improvement. It shines through in your posts too, as has been mentioned before. Got anywhere with that ebay sorting yet? I'm getting ready to do a car boot sale this weekend, it's just a couple of hours and I am hoping to make £25 after paying the fee. All helps!

Gpuk, you are doing a great job there! Congratulations on your weight loss so far, you're going to make that target easily I'm sure. With regard to the sharp pain, or any kind of pain when exercising, don't carry on through the pain in case you make it worse. You're the best judge of whether it's a twinge or whether it's something to be more concerned about - you could start by asking one of the gym supervisers? Or give NHS direct a call for some advice?

Victory, I like the "it doesn't agree with me" line, might try that one! It does annoy me when people are insensitive towards other people who are watching what they eat, the "oh go on, it won't hurt!" type thing. I get it often with alcohol too as I don't drink, have never touched a drop. That's my choice and I wish people would respect that and not try to force me to have a drink! :p

Hope everyone has a nice day, I'm sorting through the wardrobe again in a mo - should take all of 5 minutes with the small number of clothes I have!

    I did a petrichor. I did a petrichor :j :j :j

After I acknowledged a gain of 4lbs last week, I drank muchos hot lemon, was extremely good foodwise, and I have a 4lb loss to report which takes me back on the bench with Suggs and xx_starlight which I am relieved about. Also, my DH is on the bandwagon and wants to cut his tummy down a bit and we weigh same (+/- a lb or two) (he is a little shorter than me) so we are getting a bit competitive which is fun and a good motivator. Having weighed more than him for about 90% of our 8.5 years together, he is perturbed that his weight is creeping up as mine is going down :rotfl:
