I was feeling really down this morning. I know I've not had a good diet week. No particular reason why, just been tempted by too many convenient foods, eating it just because it's there. The plan was to post asking for tips on keeping up the momentum once you've started losing, staying positive, etc.

However, I then looked at granny's chart and realised again that the goal is only 5lbs per month. And now I feel stupid for feeling stupid, lol! 5lbs gives leeway to have bad days/weeks, just so long as you get back on track and remember that tomorrow is another day. So thanks a lot granny for making my day. It's easy to lose track of the big picture and bury yourself in guilt for eating that cake/biscuit/curry/mars bar.

Morning HannaB, if it's any consolation this is only my first week and last night ate 4 smallish choc biscuits and 1 packet of crisps as I've had a really stressful week at work and yesterday I came home feeling so fed up with it all. But this morning I thought exactly same as you. It's only 5lbs a month, so I put yesterday and all the stress to one side and start again today, as I'm off today. HURRAH! x

    well done bargain babe:j :j

suzy, hanna, I can see your way of thinking as you should never loose heart if you have a bit too much of what you fancy here and there but try to make sure it is at least 80/20, 80% good and 20% bad:rotfl: :D

    Morning all

Raphael, hope you enjoy your yoga DVD (you didn't get it on ebay did you, cos I just sold one :p) You'll probably notice an improvement every time you do it. I have competitions with my son about who can hold the poses the longest... yes, sad I know.

Bargain babe, well done on the loss and thank you for answering my question the other day. Have you heard back from the insurers yet? The reason I asked is that when I did my home contents insurance, it wouldn't let me use a figure below a certain minimum amount, which I thought was too high. Once I've finished the sort out I'm doing, I'm thinking of making an inventory so that's why I was curious.

Brighton belle, I was nodding at your message about not being sure half a stone wouldn't creep back on. I feel the same, and I think that's why I'm forcing myself to maintain at around 8 stone, because I feel 8.5 stone is fine too so it's like I'm intentionally keeping that half stone "in hand" because I don't trust myself, rather than going close to 8.5 stone and knowing I can stay there.

Have a good day everyone, I'll try to pop back later and see what you're all up to! :D

Hello everyone, well done on all the weight losses again.

Sorry I forgot to post for the weigh in, I've got another cold and have eaten for England in the last 2 days, so I think when I weigh myself again it will be a plus (sigh) and not a loss of weight. :o I'm fed up!!

Congratulations Bargain babe, quarter of a stone!:T

Sorry to those people who are feeling a bit down, it's hard when you get yourself in the mentality of being 'good' and 'bad'. Nice one Hanna on keeping it in perspective - this is for life so it would be unrealistic to think you are never going to eat x/y/z ever again. 80/20 is a good general marker.
Not doing so well here - I am really happy at the prospect of the new job (it definitely makes staying seem worth it BB), despite others around me being completely non-plussed by it . For some bizarre reason I don't understand and am still kicking myself about, I let slip without thinking last night the nickname I've given the MiL - OH was VERY p*ssed off and we've had a massive row. I'm so angry that he seems more upset by this than all the hurt and pain she's caused me over the past 2 1/2 years, and can't accept that I need an inoffensive outlet to offload about her as he can't cope with me criticising her. GGGRRRRRRRRRRR!! Sorry to rant on, I'm at the end of my tether. Needless to say, I couldn't keep the eating under control...

Well its been a long week, with meetings, proposals and now finding out I have a meeting in middlesborough in 10days time, only a 400 mile round trip

Trust we are all well, some noce losses going around and as per normal some people falling of the lorry and then clambering back on again, WE wouldn't be all here if we didnt slip off to naughtytown once in a while.

Well a little matter of a 1lb loss for me this week, not intended, but its a fine balance, especially as I know that come Monday I will gain 4-5lb due to playing rugby!! I know I should stop daily weighing, but would you?? Knowing the size of the gain?

How come you've had so many proposals, you little minx: it's not even the 29th yet :rotfl:
Bails: total sympathy-you do need an outlet: the only way I cope with my OH's mother (refuse to call her my M-i-l,not being married) is by in my head thinking 'I can't wait to tell my friends what she has just said.' It's the only way to stay sane and kep a sense of humour about her.:grouphug:
Hannah and suzy: excellent psycology, and acurate:T . It was really great to feel the chart/challenge had such a positive effect. This is for life, this new way of eating, so this makes it do-able the 20/80 approach. It's getting back on the wagon that counts, WITHOUT guilt.
Sorry you're sick again denbo - I would say it is more important than ever to eat healthily if you've got a cold, but I would be being a complete hypocrite: cold = eat anything I fancy to me. 'Feed a cold, feed a fever me':D
Bails, a good reminder re healthy fats that are vital. I must reintroduce avocado occaionally now I've lost the weight. I love nuts, but if I open a packet I eat them all - far worse than chocolate for me. I wish they still sold unshelled brazils coz then you got a work out getting the nut out and after 4 I'd had enough of the hassle:rotfl:
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
