Hi
was looking today at goji berries, the very favoured dried red berries of VB , the celebs and Gillian Mackeith to eat and stay slim, proper wonder berries these are:rotfl: :rotfl: the prob is I cannot eat them, the bar gillian has made on the back where it says carbs of which sugars (diabetics need to look carefully at every label and it has to say 6g or less worth of sugar) it says 22.5:eek: the goji berries on their own in a pack by the food doctor in Waitrose says 100g..carbs of which sugars 55.6:eek: def not,so then I looked at the food doctors mixed snack pack of nuts, not so bad on the sugar at all but the fat content and the calories:eek: so ended up with nothing, I keep reading that you should have almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts, hemp, pumpkin, sesame seeds all that sort of stuff for a snack attack but the fat/calorie content puts me off.

But it's good fat Victory, and essential to your body. This is no offence to you at all Victory, but this is what I hate about the diet industry - thngs have been simplified down til fat = bad when this is not the case at all. I'm not referring to WW/SW etc by the way, just generally. I was caught up in all this too for years, and I even had a friend at uni who wouldn't eat anything that had ANY fat in it (and I mean any) - she was still overweight as she simply consumed too many calories in all her non-fat foods and needless to say, had an eating disorder and was nutritionally deficient. Thankfully, she got some counselling, now eats healthily and well and has a stunning figure and a lovely little boy!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Bluecorn how is your daughter? I do hope she's not in for long. What a worry ((hugs)).
Has anybody had any decent salad dressings which are really nice? I use the full fat mayonnaise on my salad - just a little - each day, because all the low fat ones I've tried aren't very nice.
Thanks for chart Granny. Good luck with Ofsted.

Morning all. Well the official weigh-in post holiday says that I have lost 5lbs which is great - and it means that I have exceeded the 7 stone barrier AND the 100lbs milestone. Suggs and starlight, I would like to formally take my place on the ton club bench (edited: 3 figure bench). I knew I'd get there in the end!
.
WELL DONE YOU!!! :j Come and join our VERY elite club0 -
Hello all, my yoga DVD arrived today! So I had a go, some of the positions were difficult to hold, but hopefully I should get better if I keep up with it! Was sweating slightly when I finished, so it should help me ease into more exercise (weekly swimming next I think). Should tone me up a bit too hopefully!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

well guys, had my weigh in and am really pleased to have lost 3.5 lbs! Can't quite believe it, after all the food I have eaten! (all good and healthy of course!)
Only gone and spoilt it all by going for a curry with Hubby tonight, all creamy and sweet - but could only eat half so thats better than all.
Back on track tomorrow xIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -

I'm working at losing that lb I put on this week, for next week. Although it was ok to put it on, and I knew why, I now want to be sure that I can lose it again - my first real attempt at maintaining. I'm confident I won't put the whole 2.5 stone back on, but I'm less sure about just half a stone slipping back on. I want to nip that in the bud now. It still feels such unfamiliar territry, being so relatively low in weight (in relation to the last 10years: I'm not 'low' in weight for my height, bmi is 23.7 ish) that I can't quite belive I can stay this size. If I can get the lb off this week my confidence that I can stay this size will grow.
Vix - got your PM. What sort of things interest you to do in B? Is it quirky shops and independent eater's. Nightclubs? Comedy clubs? Museums/galleries or maybe swimming in the sea.If you can give me a clue I can point you even more in the right direction.
Bails - very belated but that is such good news re the job - how wonderful to be sooo wanted! Hope it is a good reward for not moving this year.
Bluecorn - really hope you daughter is better soon - must be so hard for you. Losing weight and getting fitter can only help you cope with the extra demands/stress this places on you all. Well done for keeping going.
We've started a major declutter of the 'study' (2nd bedoom) Today we rearranged the furniture and it's amazing how having the same stuff but in a different order has made the place much roomier, and more aesthetically pleasing to look at. Just need to deal with all the clutter dumped in the hall now! All mine - -trying to create more space for OH to move more of his stuff in. Really hard balancing the right amount of rest I'm supposed to be getting with keeping my joints moving + enthusiasm for the task.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
