Sounds really tight but I always collect coins I find thrown on pavement and save in my penny jar. So many people seem to think they're not worth keeping in their purse or pocket. My Mum old favourite saying is "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves" and think that's very true.

Saw this yesterday and decided to join in, and found 5p last night whilst out to start the ball rolling.
Sometimes I feel like a pelican. Whichever way I turn, I've still got an enormous bill in front of me.

Was buying my energy saving light bulbs in Tesco last night - check out this GREAT deal:
£1.96 each BUT buy 1 get TWO free - and they're the mini spiral so not too big for smaller shades.

    But I digress......
as I was paying using my credit card at the self service till, I noticed a £5 in the change section.

Now, I have no objection to picking money up off the street but I just had to hand this in. As I did so, a woman came back to say she'd left her change.

Would everybody have done the same?

I lost my 'found money 2008' total :o (it was on a bit of paper that got recycled). It was between £28 and £30 & all banked!

Best month was December (£10.58 :D ) 'worst' month was August 42P

So far we have 62p (found 4p today)& I am writing it all in my diary

Will there be a new 2009 thread?

Pollycat: "Would everybody have done the same?" yes, definitely! I would have done as you did.

So funny - I haven't joined this challenge but I was thinking about it while walking down King's Road earlier today, so I looked down - and less than 20 seconds later, there was a 20p at my feet! Must be an omen...

Picked up £1.28 yesterday in 3 seperate places, one was 5p that a girl who'd just got on the bus had dropped. She never even looked for it, it was right by the side of her seat.
Some people MUST have more money than sense.
