I found that sometimes freezing the dough does not make it rise well when defrosted - if you have the time and space it might be better to turn the leftover dough into pizza bases, bake them and then freeze them ready to be covered with toppings and then baked straight from the freezer. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

you could always make some calzone with the left over pizza dough, a spoonful of ratatouille inside the dough then baked make great lunchbox additions xxxLBM March 2011 (what on earth took me so long?)overdraft (1) -2950 overdraft (2) -246.00total CC £12,661 :eek:loan £5000DFD 2016:eek::eek: (cant come soon enough)0

I am making pizza dough tomorrow & will have too much as my dh isn't around so will only be for the children.
Anyway do I freeze it after it's risen?
Once it's defrosted do I just roll & use as usual?
thanks

A quick suggestion why not make a few extra pizzas and freeze them for a quick snack at some point or a cheaper alternative to a takeaway one night or when you need to entertain at short notice? Just as quick and simple as freezing the dough alone.Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

one other option is, cook the base "blind" for about 10-12 mins, then when cool spread with jam, whipped cream and fruit, eg sliced bananas and serve for pud, fruit pizza always a hit with my kids. we pretend the jam is tomatoe sauce, the cream is cheese and the bananas are pepperoni, anything to make mealtimes a bit less stressful!0

I freeze them in balls - just be sure to dust the outside well with flour before wrapping in clingfilm otherwise it can be a bit difficult to remove the clingfilm after. If I have time I let it defrost over night in the fridge then leave it somewhere warm-ish to finish off before using - this usually gets over the rising issue. But I have been known to whack it on defrost in the micro - it's a bit awkwarder to roll out but does the job just fine.0

A couple of weeks ago I had a Nigella moment and made homemade pizzas (well the BM helped) We had 1 left so I froze it, is it ok to cook from frozen or should I defrost it first?Sealed pot member 954:D
