    Hehe!

I know other people freeze their pizza bases and wedges in other ways, so hopefully some will post how they do it and you'll have a range of options to try.

Could I just slightly hijack this to ask you please Gigervamp, when you come to cook the pizza do you defrost the base or cook from frozen?
    Thanks,

I just take it out of the freezer, add whatever toppings I want (and the tomato sauce if I've frozen them without it) and then bung it in the oven. It only takes a few minutes more to cook from frozen.

I'm just about to go and do a batch of pizza bases. For the ones that we won't eat tonight, do we freeze the dough before it's risen, after it's risen or after it's cooked? And if I do freeze it after cooking can I reheat it from frozen or do I need to let it thaw first?

If I want to freeze pizza base, I give it one rise, then freeze individual balls of dough wrapped in cling. I allow them to defrost, then roll out :)

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread.

    Hi Everyone,

I have been reading this site for a few months now and must say I am loving this board and have never posted before as I have always found what I was looking for :D
    Anyway......

I am currently using up ingredients/food from my very recent pre OS life, I have a packet of pizza base mix and half a jar of 'pizza topper tomato sauce stuff' (I know , I know:o )but would it be ok to make the base and make some mini pizzas with veg /cheese and freeze for later?

I don't want to waste the jar as it's to be used within 3 days of opening (yesterday).

    Thanks in advance
  • Hello, I would have thought that it would be fine to make up some mini pizzas and freeze

That sauce usually lasts longer than 3 days. Esp if in the fridge. Nothing wrong with using it - OS isn't about flailing yourself it's about using what's good for you as and when - I use that all the time [86p in Mr S - and does about 4 pizzas so well worth it].
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
