tigerfeet2006, I would say that is the worst possible thing to do. Addicted is painting the most negative outcome for something that is a minor misdemeanour. There was a guy near us who took out a loan for 13,000 after he went bankrupt and spent the lot, he got 20 hours community service and a 3 year restriction order. There's no comparison with what Lotty may or may not have done.

Lotty, you stand more chance of waking up in the morning and being able to fly than you do of being prosecuted.

I know how you feel Lotty, but I made my mind up a long time ago that I wasn't dancing to somebody else's tune when all I'd done was to get things wrong. The people at the receivers off ice were polite and friendly enough but they could threaten ipas and restrictions all they want but it was never gonna stop me enjoying life.

Leave your bankruptcy a bit longer if you'd feel happier with more water gone under the bridge but don't be intimidated by so called experts on here spouting a load of theoretical nonsense.

In some ways I can appreciate your worry Lotty... I too am in the process of filing bankruptcy, and I haven't slept too much either due to worrying about it. I keep going through everything in my mind and thinking "I could maybe have done this differently" or "What exactly did I say there?" etc... And yes, it is a horrible feeling. But Lotty, you sound like a nice person who has quite simply made a mistake and things haven't quite turned out the way you had maybe hoped. However, you sound like you have already tortured yourself enough about all of this, and it certainly isn't worth making yourself really ill over (I do this also, so I should probably eat my own words).

I do live on the other side of the world now, so I guess I am one of those who has managed to fly away, but unfortunately it doesn't make the worry about this any less.

Jane, i think you have misunderstood my posts. I come on here to help people consdering or going through bankruptcy, not to scare people.
I have been dealing with debtors petition bankruptcy for 8 years doing about 250 cases a year. If you think i am talking rubbish thats your opinion which you are entitled to.
