Did I say something wrong? I didn't mean to. I just think this must be a record telephone number. By typing in up to 40 numbers you can call oversees mobiles (for example) for just 4ppm! Credit to the people who worked it out!
the real credit goes to the people that can do it for 1p per minute without getting their post deleted

seems to be only off-peak though...

Is it me? Can someone explain all these numbers?

I can't find the 0844 428 46 46 number listed on the dialwise site for phoning UK mobiles.

    There's united kingdom [mobile] 0871 999 48 48 at 10ppm

    united kingdom [0845 r... [mobile] 0844 462 49 49 at 2ppm

    united kingdom [nation... [mobile] 0844 566 47 47 at 5ppm

    united kingdom [personal] [mobile] 0911 501 46 46 at 15ppm

I noticed a post earlier from pricefighter (to adminannie) saying

" You appear to be looking at the www.dialwise.co.uk which only gives you the rates from a UK Landline. The 4p rate is to a UK(Mobile)"

I am wanting to phone from a UK landline. Is the 4p rate to a UK(Mobile) only available from non UK landlines then?

    Thanks

They have withdrawn it and replaced it with 0871 999 48 48(10p A min).

https://www.abroadtel.co.uk 0844 452 0005 (5p a min) are now the cheapest supplier. But make sure you follow there dialling instructions carefully.

  • I think the number you have quoted is correct (ie 0844 452 0005 at 5ppm to UK mobiles) but it is actually provided by Abroadtel at www.abroadtel.co.uk.

    Dialabroad's equivalent number is 0905 257 0280 and costs 20ppm.

Has anyone found any other suppliers charging 5ppm (or less) at present?

Yes.Thanks for pointing it out. I have amended my posting.

They are the cheapest for peak, and evening calls from a landline to a mobile at the moment. No one else gets anywhere near them!!!

Have you ever been successful at dialling a mobile from you landline using Abroadtel 0844 452 0005

I tried it yesterday and it worked once, and failed the second time.I have been reading a lot of bad reports about this carrier in the last day or so and i am inclined to think i would be better off using 1899 as i would be more likely to get through.

Having just returned from abroad, I tried again and it now seems that the 1p per minute method (including many foreign mobiles) has been rumbled and discontinued/disabled. Pity, but worth trying again a couple of times before giving up...
