  • Thanks for the heads-up on this OP - I thought I was in for a winner as I saw it and ordered it at around 7.45 on the day in question. It showed up as being "Posted" for about a week in my play.com account and they even took the £16.00 from my account on Monday! Today, on checking, it says "awaiting stock" (now apparently cancelled) and upon querying it with them, I received this -

    Thank you for your email.
    This mistake was due to a computer error and we apologise for the
    inconvenience caused.
    As we do not have a date for the restocking of the item we have
    refunded your card.
    It is not likely to be within the next 2 months.
    Again we apologise for the inconvenience caused to you in this matter.

    Thats strange,because I had the same thing in my account,coming up as dispatched (but no email) and money taken out.I rang them on monday and was told item will be delivered,tuesday gave them another ring and they told me item was out of stock but they would still honour the price and send the boxset out monday morning when then next get stock.

    Is it me or are they very inconsistent?

    They dont seem to know if it was a price error or a genuine offer and if we will or wont recieve the item in question,its just not really fair.

    Some people will say the usual "was clearly a price error why are you complaining" but when were not getting clear answers and money taken from our cards then surely its polite and good customer service to get in contact and supply the correct information to all of us.

    OK, ignore me if I am being stupid, but, fuzzgun19 was sent a response to their email (from previous post) saying...

    If that is the case, anyone who had the money taken from their account should receive the item, not just have it cancelled ?

    I will be following this up (money taken, account shown as posted but order cancelled). As Luis has said I am only following it up as there is massive inconsistancy in the way Play are dealing with this.

    Mine arrived today.

    If I rated the HP films and didn't already own 1-3, I'd be over the moon - It's a very nice set.
  • :mad: They have not had the common decency to reply to my email sent after being told by one of their customer reps on the phone to leave the oder on my account and when they come back in stock they will send it and only charge my original price then within two hours I get the sorry but email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

    Well, I have phoned Play (02890921724 from saynoto0870.com) and was told that the item went out of stock before it could be posted out.

    I have been assured that the item will be posted out to me once it comes back into stock, at the price that i have paid (money taken from account already).

    I asked for confirmation of this in writing but was told this wasnt possible so they might just be fobbing me off :confused:

    Anyone else contacted them after money taken from account?

    Hannah2, I ordered Entourage Season 1&2 Boxset as well as HP as was only £8.00. After seeing it go from packing to processing to packing and then seeing it go back to processing and stay there for 3 days, I called Play as the money had been debited frm my account. Was told it was a pricing error but the system would be overrided in this instance as the money had been taken. It turned up a cpouple of days ago.

    So I am hoping for you that they stay true to their word. They did for me.

    Luis: It says posted now and I received the confirmation of dispatch email a couple of hours after calling them. Definately worth calling them.
