  • I am sorry for my bad english and yes is not my first language (3rd after italian and french). That day I was very tired after 12 hours shift and I was very mad for my pixmania purchase when I wrote that message.
    Here In short my case:

I bought a Sony home cinema on 3rd June 2010. This product wasn't out of stock when I did it. They took my money and on Saturday I checked my profile to see when the dispatch is going to be. Once in to the profile I found no estimated date for the dispatch and on the item status was written out of stock. 'What the hell???' I said :)

By the way today on my profile they write the date for the dispatch. Let's see if I will be lucky. I do apologise if you still can not understand what I have wrote here. I'm still learning. And thank you all for your help! It is useful to read feedback and experiences from other ppl.:T

    Take care

I thank you all for putting your complaints on here - I was just about to order from pixmania when I thought I'd check them out.

Good luck Gradiant with your order and complaints, also your English, it may take a while to sort out your order but it's worth slowly following it through.
  • I have received my home cinema this morning! Oh well I saved 100 quid, but their system of tracking items is not reliable at all. First they replied to my non-understandable email saying that I will probably have to wait at least 3-4 weeks for a new stock and they will be happy to give me a total refund. It was a bit confusing and to be honest with you I don't know if I am going to repeat the same experience. The home cinema works properly and, as I was expecting, the power plug came with a EU standard. The home cinema that I bought is a Sony HT-SF100 Home Cinema System. Superb sound without any doubt. Bought it for 432.85 quid with 3 years extended warranty. Well done me! :T
  • Just managed to finally get my tomtom back from them, what a chore! bought it from them last september, it packed up in early April. Looked into sending it back, they sent 2 e-mails both with conflicting details. Rang them and got yet a third set (cross between the first 2!). I wish I had seen this forum before as I wouldn't have gone through the hassle. I sent it back and they denied receiving it for a month, despite me haveing tracking which showed it got there. Then got a mail saying they had received it 2 weeks AFTER the date of the mail! Chased it up a couple of weeks later and they said that they had only just got it. Finally got it back today, it looks like a reconditioned unit from tomtom themselves. At least it works, but not convinced it will be for long. :(

The after sales is appalling. Yes they are cheap, but it isn't worth the heart aches, especially when you have shelled out a few hundred quid. Deal with them at your peril, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Wow! I'm glad I read this first - but it's a shame, because Pixmania were loads cheaper for the F1443KD washing machine we were looking at, AND have Triple nectar points AND have another £20 off £500 (not a lot, but every little helps!). Then I saw this thread here, and then I saw this review site:
    http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/online-shops/pixmania-com/reviews/sd/ - 85 out of the 97 reviews are 1 star!

So, any tips on getting this washing machine cheap? Google products has Woolys down cheapest at £699 - still a little too much for us seeing as all previous washing machines have come via freecycle!
Happy to get a B-grade as long as guarantee is the same, just can't find any
  • i have only registered with money saving experts to tell you that i read your comments about pixmania after i spend nearly 700 on a camera and i was so worried that i barely slept waiting for their phonelines to open so i could get a refund.

within ten minutes of speaking to the customer services team, i got an email from paypal telling me that my amex card had been fully refunded.

i am so grateful for them as i was led to believe that i might have have lots of problems being refunded. i only used their services as a friend recommended them based on his experience.

so... there. i've given my 10 penneth worth in an effort to let the next person who reads this posting find some comfort in knowing that they are, in my experience, and that of my friends, a very very good company.

I dont use Pixmania now. Id have a couple of things off them and then I ordered a camera. When it came all the instructions were in French. I contacted them and they simply said that their small print on their site says this may happen and basically, tuff! I had to contact the camera company and buy a new instructions book from them in English. So basically I wiped out any savings Id made. Never again!

Have you tried any comparison sites? Have you then checked what cash back you can get from Topcashback or quidco using merchants? Whats the best price and from whom so far? Kitchen Science has it for £717 delivered with 3.5% cashback from quidco - so under £700. Havent checked all the others.

I have ordered a Philips MCI500 hifi system on the 22-06-10 and they sent me an MCi500 instead. I call them back to returned the product back and was told that i have to contact UPS myself to arrange with them to pick up the product from my house, which i refused to do as it's was not my fault that they send me the wrong item.

To cut the long story short i managed to take the product back to a UPS representative, to sent it back to them. the product was registered with there warehouse on the 29-06-10. To my suprice  got the wrong item sent to me again on 13-07-10, and this is after several phone calls confirming with them that, I have ordered philiphs MCI500 not MCi500 and they said yes and are sending me the MCI500.

I called them and was told that this is a mistake on their website and they do not have MCI500 in their warehouse. However it's still showing on their website as MCI500, time now is 16:35GMT....

so I now have to sent this one back and hope i will get my refund back before the end of this year...

Says it all - imo 1 star is way, way too many in the first place [presume that the review site doesn't allow people to put in zero stars!!]

Pixmania???? Cr4pmania or P155mania are more accurate.
