That's very interesting to know.
I wonder if one could therefore take action [as in small claims court] against Dixons wrt Pixmanias sh17 products etc...?0 -
PixMania have horrible reviews on pricerunner.Which is why I have always refrained from using them.0

Wish I read all this first, I really do as a few days ago I spend £700 at pixmania on a TV as there prices seemed good and I believed it to look a legit .CO.UK site.
I now have the problem of them asking me to validate/confirm my order with the following email they sent me yesterday:-

Now first of all my problem with this is I'm deaf so communicating by voice over a phone is something I unfortunately cannot do, so I ask my partner to call only to find the number they expect us to call is in France and being that we only have a mobile phone we cannot call as it's barred. OK off to the phone-box we go (what a farce) my partner calls only to be on hold for over 20 minutes trying to find someone to talk too and once she does guess what? THEY SPOKE FRENCH NO ENGLISH.
I am fuming about this and don't know what to do, how am I suppose to confirm my order???
I have replied to the email they sent me, but it's no.reply
can ANYONE PLEASE HELP!0 -
Let me also add that the payment was taking straight away so they have my money so what do they want to confirm???0
-
I suggest that you cancel the order.
You are entitled to do this under EU law.
Since you haven't 'validated' whatever they want you to validate, it should be easy.
Send them an email and insist upon an immediate refund onto your credit card.
If the refund doesn't appear quickly, call your cc co and instigate a chargeback
Good luck0 -
Got a delivery for a Zanussi cooker today that I purchased from Pixmania and I paid £65 for their installation and scrappage service. They are part of DSG group and use currys home delivery. An engineer came from a company called May and Newman Limited. He was very surly and tried to install the cooker even though it was warped at the back where it looked like it had been dropped (I only noticed this when it was taken back!). Under their terms my old cooker had been disconnected by my husband but we were not confident to reconnect as my husband is not an electrician. When the engineer tried to connect the Zanussi sparks flew out of the back of it. He would not reconnect my old cooker and I have found today that I will not get a new delivery until Wednesday1 It would have taken this guy ten minutes to reconnect my old cooker. He checked my wiring to prove there was nothing wrong with it and yet still refused to do so. Under the installation the cooker was supposed to be unpacked and inspected. This guy knew it was faulty when he looked at the back and wrote it on the delivery note but still tried to install it, no wonder it sparked the back was all caved in! He was more at risk of getting a shock from the new appliance than my old one! Anyway contacted Pixmania what a nightmare, number is unobtainable on several occassions and then when it does go through you hang on for ages and in one instance one of them laughed at me, thanks! Since I have been online there are loads of complaints about them, dont use them!! Currys Home delivery says its up to the discretion of the engineer whether he reconnects your cooker, I am disabled with a young son and this guy knew this but with Pixmania's couldnt care less attitude (I have had two standard reply emails today in response to my queries so they have not been read) its no wonder he couldnt care less really....Top quality service boasted on their website what a joke!:eek:0

Wish I'd read this site before placing an order for two ipods.
Their price was only comparable with Dixons (I think owned by the same people) and I ordered last Monday. One for me, one for my Father in-law's 60th Birthday that Saturday. The site said 2-3 days delivery and the item was in stock.
Unfortunately, it takes Pixmania three days to "Validate your order". I complained to Alice Walker at Pixmania and she was apologetic and offered to refund the delivery fee. I was happy with that response and urged them to change the wording on their website.
Eventually they handed the package over to DHL. Who spent three days with it, delivering it the following Monday, missing my Father in-laws birthday. Nevermind, the delivery refund would pay for the Special Delivery costs.
Or so I thought... On picking up the flimsy box from my apartment block's concierge I found only one iPod was enclosed! So either Pixmania, DHL or my concierge has stolen one of my iPods. I now need to find out what cover I have with my credit card for this. So annoyed it is un-true. I guess my Father-in-law will get the pod.
My advice... go into John Lewis.0 -
Honestly don't even bother pi55ing about trying to get it resolved with Pi55mania...they are woeful.
Just do a straightforward chargeback on your cc or dc.
Don't let the card co fob you off [they will probably try].0 -
On the 1/1 I ordered a 32" tv from Pixmania. I had seen it in Currys for £329 a couple of days before in the sale but it had gone back up the day I went to get one. Saw it on Pixmania at a similar price and snapped it up. Three days later I got an email saying it was now out of stock but would be back in by 9th. Although annoyed I thought it wouldn't be that bad and decided to wait, but now had an email to say it will be 16th. They have charged my credit card but surely a decent company wouldn't charge you until they had sent it out or take an order while not having stock. Going to phone up and cancel order tomorrow and inform my credit card of whats happened.
My advise is DON'T TOUCH PIXMANIA WITH A BARGEPOLE.0
