Sorry no posts in a while, but I'm just so stressed with work and commuting that I don't have time to do a spend diary etc. Trying to be as MSE as possible but not always working!

I'm trying to find another job which is hard work in itself, as well as trying to make this one bearable while I find another one... and that's not going well either when I've got useless managers! Grrr! Just needed to let off a bit of steam as I'm so exhausted.

I've applied for job in Cardiff this week:D, its at a place I had an interview a few months ago, so hopefully that will stand me in good stead.

Not been having a very MSE month so far, but we do have a well stocked freezer and cupboard so we should be ok. I've decided that the next shop that I do will be a stripey shop at Tescos, or a Basics shop at Sainsbury's topped up with Aldi/Lidl... just to see how much I can save on the shopping budget.

Going to see Duffy on Sunday night which I'm really looking forward to. Bf managed to get tickets for nearly half facevalue, which is probably the most MSE thing we've done this week, but we haven't been to a gig together since we met!

I'm going to use part of the long weekend (not in work til weds) to get back on track with all things MSE and DFW.

I hope everyone has a good BH weekend.

Forgot to say, its going to be a better MSE weekend than I thought. We are also going to the Welsh Rugby concert on Monday, which is free, and then I got free tickets for a film screening on Tuesday:T Going to see "Priceless" starring Audrey Tatou.

Off to IKEA tonight for some cheapy net curtains for the spare room before my parents come to stay. That's if I ever get back from Swindon, the trains are delayed due to signalling problems. Its going to be busy too :mad:as its Friday and its the Heineken Cup Final in Cardiff tomorrow!

    Hello All,

I can't believe its June already! I'm still trying my best to save as much as possible, and I've had my pay slip for June so I know how much my basic net salary is now. I'm now paying well over the minimum payment on all the credit cards and hope to see the amounts in my signature dropping. I'm waiting on some expenses money from work so amount in my signature has actually risen lately :( but I should have the money this week or next.

A Homebargains store has opened just down the road from where I live in Cardiff, so I've been having fun bargain shopping there. I got a Kakuro puzzle book for 19p to do on the train and multi-bionta vitamins with omega-3 for £1.99 instead of £12.99!!:j

Also today, I've had a great time MSE wise as Glamour magazine has a free benefit lip gloss worth £13 attached. I love benefit makeup so I bought 2 - one with each of the colours I like! £26 worth of makeup for £4 :j

My parents came to stay at the beginning of the week, and we had an MSE day out yesterday at The Museum of Welsh Life at St. Fagan's near Cardiff. Its free admission and £2.50 to park the car all day. Its an out door museum with lots of different buildings from around Wales which have been rebuilt on site. There is also a country house ( St. Fagan's Castle) and some very beautiful gardens.

Yesterday was a very productive MSE day.

I finally got around to switching Gas and Electric over. The cheapest was British Gas Click 5, so we should save about £178 over the course of a year.:T

I also got quotes for my car insurance and the best deal was £140 cheaper than my renewal quote. I was paying £61 a month for car insurance, I would now be paying £19, :Dbut it would be cheaper again to pay the annual premium and put it on my credit card and pay the£60 towards the credit card as the APR on there is lower than the car insurance APR for paying monthly.

I still haven't had my work expenses back so my total hasn't gone down as much as I would have liked, but I should have the money by the end of next week and it should be £150-200 to put towards my debts.

But bf managed to break the wooden frame of the sofa, (its one of those IKEA ones) so we might have to go sofa window shopping at the weekend. Boys!

I've had tingling lips and then tingling cheeks/face all morning. Just been to Boots to chat to the pharmacist, and got some anti-histamines (BOGOF and paid for with points - very MSE!). But I'm now beginning to think its a sign of all the stress and anxiety I've had recently due to work etc. Very annoying!

Get this free residents pass or Cardiff Castle, you can have picnics in the grounds if the weather's ever nice.

Hello, I hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Thanks Bagpuss, I am feeling better. It was an probably an anxiety thing as I was really tired and washed out afterwards.

Thanks to PasturesNew for the link to the Residents Pass, we will definetly be getting one each to go and enjoy the castle.

Still feeling off colour, I've had a really scratchy, dry throat for the last few days and a bit of cough. It's worse the mornings and gets better through the day. I had a 3 hour nap this afternoon!

Had a good weekend shopping wise and got lots of yellow stickies on Friday night so the freezer is well stocked with pizza!

Managed to fix the sofa with a bit of wood glue and a bracket so that's saved a bit of money, and I still need to sort out the car insurance, but that will have to wait til Tuesday as I'm in London for the day tomorrow for a work meeting.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Sounds like you may be doing a bit too much, slow down!! I understand you want to sort the debt out but don't let it affect your health. Consider yourself told missy:D :rotfl:
