I've finally got around to doing a snowball calculation, and my current DFD is November 2010... I've now got motivation to get it lower than this. I'm due a quidco payment soon, and I've got lots of things to put on e-bay. Time to get sorting out I think!

Hi Bagpuss, I'm doing ok this week, thanks for asking, and thanks to lucielle for the post too. Work isn't that great, but apart from that, I'm doing well I think. :D

Had a lovely day out in Aberystwyth on Wednesday as bf had to go there for selections tests for a job. All paid for on expenses! :D The weather wasn't that great, but it was so nice to be by the sea in a really relaxed place. Then yesterday back in work I had post-aber depression - felt like crying by the end of the work day, which is not like me.

The closing date for the job I've applied for was yesterday so fingers crossed for an interview next thursday.

I've paid most of my CCs for this month but as of next month I will be snowballing, and I've got lots of things to put on e-bay when I get the chance(probably Sunday). We are going clay pigeon shooting tomorrow as we had some of those KitKat experience vouchers... well we're going as long as bf can remember where it is!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, even if the weather forecast isn't that great!!

I hope everyone had a good (if wet weekend).

Had fun clay pigeon shooting, even if the drive up there was an experience. It was at the top of a steep drive up the side of a mountain, and my little car just about coped, limited to first gear for most of the narrow roads! There was a distinct smell of brake pads and clutch when we came back down again!! The shooting was a lot easier than I thought it would be, but bf only missed two clays out of 21, so I'll never hear the end of it!

We did a strange sort of shop on Saturday and visited Lidl, Aldi and Sainsburys but we got everything that was on the list, and it was on budget. Also got a couple of storecupboard things too.

Bf is at a job interview in Cardiff at the moment, so fingers crossed. But he would rather get the job that he had the selection tests for on Wednesday, and he's waiting to hear about an interview for that job. Everything is a bit up in the air at the moment. I'm waiting to hear if I've got an interview later in the week - if I don't hear anything today then I'm going to get in contact to see if I've got an interview, or if not feedback.

This morning is going very slowly, and the NSD went out of the window when I had to get the bus to the station this morning...

Well, bf didn't get the job he interviewed for yesterday. He was under the impression that he was being headhunted, and the job was almost certainly his, so his confidence has taken a dent. On the bright side he has 3 more jobs still to apply for, and one he's waiting on an interview for so its not all bad news.

It doesn't look like I've got an interview for the job I applied for either, as I've not heard anything and the interviews are on Thursday. I did email them yesterday to see if I had an interview, but no answer so far.

I've just re-snowballed (don't know if that's a word...) ready for my pay increase at the end of the month. and I've knocked 3 months off my DFD!! :T

I'm also right on track with my spending this month:D , but i'm in the middle of a spend diary so I'm sure there's more cutbacks I can make. I've got £12 unaccounted for waiting to go out of my bank account - I can't for the life of me think what it could be!

I'm feeling really positive about being debt free today. Thanks to everyone who's given me advice so far!

There's also a promotion at work that I'm thinking of applying for... so fingers crossed.

Well the slugs seem to have gone, but now we may have mice.... Found some small black pellets in one of the kitchen cupboards, they don't seem to be any where else, and the cupboard only had empty plastic food containers in it. I'll be cleaning out the cupboard tonight, and I've taken all the stuff out of the cupboard ready to be washed... Have to wait and see....

I've had to cancel my bank card as I may used it twice in a cash machine which had a skimming device fitted (There are two cash machines and I can't remember if I used the one with the device or not!) I phoned the bank to cancel last night, and I eventually got everything sorted, but it wasn't easy as they didn't understand what I was talking about! Silly call centres! Anyway I'm now without a debit card for a few days so that should help with being MSE! :rotfl: But that also means that any essentials will have to go onto the CC and then be paid off!

Still planning on applying for the promotion, just need to catch a time to sit down with my line manager to talk about it. I need to get her and my head of group to agree to support the application otherwise, it won't get very far. But I'll still apply if I don't get support anyway...

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.

    Time for an update...

Well the slugs have gone again as bf put more pellets down, and the cupboard where the potential mouse lives has just been kept closed as we haven't had time to deal with it.

I've got my new debit card, so I can now continue trying to be MSE. Been doing my sums and looks like I've overspent a bit in the last week so I'm going to have to start being good, and trying to have NSDs.

Work has been a nightmare over the past few days. I have been having problems with my line manager and they have gotten significantly worse over this past week. I got really upset yesterday and I'm tired of not getting my point of view taken into account. I keep bringing points up and no one is listening. To be honest I've very tired of the whole situation. The next person up the chain isn't in the office today, so its all going to have to wait until next week.

I've been feeling down/upset/angry about the whole thing since yesterday. I'm going to take the weekend (going away with bf to stay with my parents) to think about whether I still want to apply for promotion, and whether I still want to work there. My application is with my other manager now, but I doubt I'll get any support as I haven't from my line manager.

Hi hun:hello: Sorry your having a tough time at work (Your line manager sounds a complete !!!!!!:o ) Don't worry too much about overspending last week we all have rough patches, I had a really bad spending spree a few weeks back but on the plus side I did resist buying the really cute rabbit I saw in pets at home:D. Hope things get better at work for you soon.
