I've had my payslip and I'm about a £100 down on the backpay i had worked out. Not very happy about it at all. I seem to pay out a hell of a lot and get nothing in return, like most single people.
On the up side, I will have a sizeable chunk of money to pay off my creditcard tomorrow, and I should get my expenses back on Friday to pay off another chunk at the weekend, so the balances should be a lot better by then.
I've used an income tax calculator to work out what i would have paid on just my usual salary, so I can hopefully do a new SOA tonight and work out where I'm up to.0 -
Hi Hun,
If you want me (or anyone else) to double check your back pay or sums, feel free to PM me. I work in payroll so know that we're not always perfect!Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today.

oo another Cardiffian!! Do think we should have a Cardiff meet at some stage!! Would you be eligible for a tax rebate BTW? We cant check for a month but often get it after expenses etc looked at...every penny counts! Esp when youre that close to the H rate tax! Luckily I'm not but still could pay gazzillions more off if I didnt have tax every month!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

my basic salary is no where near the higher tax rate, but got over £1k in backpay which took this month's salary close to it. The other annoying thing is that I can't work out what the tax would have been on just my basic salary ( which has just increased by roughly 10%).
Anyway I'm happy as I've found out that my favourite bar/restaurant in Bristol called zer degrees is opening up in Cardiff as well. Its a microbrewery too so lots of yummy beer! Its on the way home from Cardiff Central station so i'll be popping in for beer on Fridays.:beer:0 -
I have paid off my Capital One Credit Card.:j and I will have the work expenses in my account tomorrow to pay off my egg card next week:D .
Don't want to pay it off yet as there is a direct debit going out of my account tomorrow for my usual monthly egg card payment so will wait until early next week for that to clear and see what the balance is and then pay it off.
Off to North Wales to visit my parents tomorrow for the weekend. I will be getting my hair cut up there as its cheaper. Just a shame that petrol has gone up again! :mad:0 -

Does your council tax cost £150 a month then? I presume it's split 50:50?
That's quite expensive seeing as you're paying £500 a month total for rent...
Have you considered rebanding?"The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -
ct can also be split ver 12m but you have to ask plus it does sem espensive for cardiff - i have a 1 bed flat & pay 40 but thats with single person discount...worth investigating! Do the article on here by martin - I did got dosh back & was rebanded!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

I pay the Council Tax as bf is a student. Its £74 with the 25% but we are living in quite a big 2 bedroom flat.
I pay the bills at the moment until bf finishes his course in October, and gets a job.0 -
Just paid £400 off my egg card. :j Will pay the rest off at the end of the month once we've got our new budget sorted. Its going to be a busy month with lots of work travel so don't want to leave myself short.
Also booked rugby tickets for February (next year!) for Scotland v Wales. Managed to get the cheapest ones so I've very pleased. The hostel is already booked, so just the flights to go.0
