Thanks Bagpuss. I wish I could slow down, but its not possible at the moment.

I'm not being as MSE as I could be as I'm just too busy with work and commuting at the moment. The job hunt is not going well, which doesn't help. Going to have a chat with my line manager on Thurs/Fri so I'm going to try and sort out working at home 1-2 days a week to see if that helps.

Well I've been forced to slow down this week, like it or not. I still wasn't feeling well so I had yesterday off work, was feeling off colour still this morning so I went to the GP, and I have tonsilitis so I'm off work for the rest of the week with orders to rest.

I've got a few Japanese puzzle books to keep me amused (19p each from home bargains) and I've just baked some cupcakes to use up some eggs.

Thanks everyone for the get well messages. I'm feeling much better and have been out to feed the ducks today (had some stale bread left!).

I've had my work expenses and i've paid that off my egg card, and I've just bought my car insurance ( the whole annual policy - never been able to do that before!) and put it on my Barclaycard as the CC APR was lower than the insurance monthly payment APR. I will now have £60 a month extra to throw at the debts. Bf is busy planting herbs and beans in pots for us - he now wants a garden, but that would mean moving!!

Well I'm now back at work and had a bit of MSE retail therapy at the weekend. I managed to get a mini crumpler bag, to use as a handbag whilst cycling for £10(was £30) and a couple of very cheap dvds and books as a treat. I know it was a bit naughty, but it was budgeted for. I've been using the new bag as a handbag for the past few days and its really good. My other handbag was starting to get very battered, so i need to preserve it for when i need a proper, smart handbag!
Bf got a "grow your own chillies" kit from Woolies for a couple of pounds so we now have potential chilli plants growing on the bedroom window and french beans growing outside.

We used the 2 for 1 Wagamamas offer from Men's Health Magazine online on Sunday so had a very yummy and cheap sunday dinner!

I've found 2 more jobs to apply for nearer home so I'll keep everyone posted. I didn't get interviews for the two jobs I applied for in May.:(

    Thanks Bagpuss, so do I!

I've had a rubbish day today. I've had a headache all afternoon, and I went to the GP for what I thought was a normal check up for blood pressure. My blood pressure is high so I've now got to change my pill. Very annoyed as I know that my high blood pressure is almost certainly due to my commute and stress at work, rather than caused by the pill I'm currently taking. I now have to move to the mini-pill to see if the other pill was causing the high blood pressure or not!!

I know its for my own good - I don't want to have a stroke(!), but the last mini-pill that I was on made me feel grotty, and I'm already suffering from quite a few of the side affects of this new mini-pill before I've even started it! I just hope that this one suits me and I'm ok on it... oh and I have to remember to take it at the same time each day - no more lie ins!! :p

Oh and I thought I'd lost weight (as I've gone down a clothes size), but I was shocked to see what my weight was. I will be going to buy some scales so I can keep a closer(weekly) check on it!

    Sorry - rant over!

    Hello, hope everyone is well.

We've had a couple of slimy visitors in the past couple of days... a slug appeared in the middle of the lounge floor last night, and bf had one on his wine glass the night before - eurgh!

Hopefully bf is going to phone the landlord it see if its happened before, and put some salt down outside where the gravel meets the outside of the lounge wall. I don't want to accidently step in one tonight!!

On a more positive note, I've posted my registration form for an intensive Welsh Course starting in September - its a bit pricey, but twice a week and its the follow on from the taster course that I took in March and really enjoyed! :D

We had two slugs on Friday night and another one on Sunday, but bf has now put slug pellets under the plants by the airbricks so we shouldn't see any more. We didn't have any last night (that I could see) so hopefully they have found somewhere else to play.

I've sent off the application form for a job near Cardiff. Its a similar job to what I do now, but in a different area of the public sector, so I really hope I get an interview. It would be a lot shorter commute everyday and I would have a bit more spare cash to put towards my debts.

Off to Aberystwyth on Wednesday as bf has got through to the second selection stage for a job with the Assembly. I've taken the day off so we can have an afternoon by the seaside once he's finished the tests. He also has an interview with a firm in Cardiff a week today so fingers crossed he will have a job offer before the end of July. Managed to get him a bargain suit from Bridgend Outlet Village at the weekend so he'll certainly look the part!

Just been looking at my signature, it doesn't look like I've paid much off, and once the welsh course goes onto my credit card it won't look like I've paid anything off at all (its part of my career and personal development, so I don't mind putting it on my credit card, and friday was the last day for early bird discount). Employers won't pay for it as I work in England, but I might get further courses paid for if I get a job in Wales.

Anyway... what I mean is even though it doesn't look like I have paid much off my debts, but I know that it will all be paid off and sooner rather than later. I will have more spare cash once bf is working and paying half the bills, and I'll have more money again once I get a job nearer home and don't have to pay over £200 in commute costs every month.
