Does you good to have a rant now and then.
It does lol -
I am now waiting for another letter now from the EHO - as they just complain about every little bump
She said something witty at me last night after the onslaught of verball abuse like "this is bang out of order" and I just reply back saying "that everything seems to be bang out of order with you two moaning about what happens in my boundary" Gawd I felt brave and on a power trip then, she ran off back inside (crying I hope - I despise her)
Then the sence of her B/F coming round banging on the gate - brother said it was a one off - I stayed away as I would have knocked him0 -
Although a pain you should maybe ask you local council if they have any limitations with regard reasonable hours for works to take place, Some Leases etc or covenants will have defined hours that works can take place, They are normally 7 am to 7 pm If you are going to be doing works that require planning permission you may find that your neighbour puts in an objection which can be a pain…… so best not to rock the boat the much prior to that.....0

you can make noise till 9pm during the week
l have three kids one is in bed at 7.30
if my neighbours started making noise
l would never complain
unless it was everynight very late0 -
Unreasonable noise is unreasonable noise no matter what time of day or night & the law has been changed to that effect, next time you might want to let them know in advance that you're going to be making a lot of noise so they can prepare themselves for it & hopefully put off them complaining to you again.
A little consideration goes a long way.Winnings

If ever a deep breath and clear the air session was needed....it's now, lol.
Bite the bullet and go round there with a smile (you dont have to mean it!) and ask them if you can all have a chat about what's going on as it was never you're intention to upset anyone and you would like to finish your jobs without making things worse and ask them for their opinions or suggestions as to how you could do that. You might hate them but you're only making it harder on yourself I think, by not talking to them.
If they dont meet you half way then tough, you've done your bit.
As for the time thing.....I have an 8 year old who goes to bed at 8pm and noise after that time would bug me tbh. My youngest is one of those kids who really needs their sleep and gets run down very quickly if not enough is had. I wouldn't moan any other time though.
It's difficult to balance ....but for the sake of peace......go talk.0 -
Come on people, this was a " one off ", not an every evening thing.
So baby got woke up, tough, I bet it soon went back to sleep.0 -
brightontraveller: I agree what you say - I am not sure of any limitations, however I will be checking that out when I start the works of the solar panels. There is nothing that I am looking to do which requires planing at all so I am not worried about planning refusal on noise bases as a appication is not needed (so I have being told)
Garty: Thanks- this was a one off, I don't bang day in and day out...
LuciferTDark: I gave them some consideration before a year or two again where I spoke to them before I did some other work - hence another letter of the outlining of what I was going to do, which resulted in a backlash. However they they didn't give me any consideration when they boarded out their loft during the time I was alseep during the day (night shift) - but cus is was during the day I have no grounds to complain and brought ear plugs, same again when they fitted new pipe work for their boiler. again no consideration when they spent an hour drilling a bloody hole (same depth hole as the one that took me 10 seconds with the right tools!), again when I was alseep during the day - they know I work nights... So I am not pleasing them anymore.0 -
