The woman in M and S smelt the bra (she sniffed it!!! - weirdo!) and told me it had been worn(it hadnt!)

There are auction sites out there (so I'm told) which sell used undies. You'd probably get more than your £6 too :rotfl: :rotfl: There are wierdos out there!!!

I've never had a prob with M & S bras.. except some tend to be a bit itchy! I bought some in the sale.. (earlyish on) and didnt try them on cos was in a rush.. and didnt wanna miss out on bargains! I asked the cashier if I could bring them back she said it was fine. I later discovered I had too many.. and thought I should take so back as had spent too much.. even on sale stuff! I took some back but not all.. went in the morning and there was a huge queque.. so went back later after work and there was hardly a queque at all! They refunded with no prob at all! Think I was lucky though because a few days later when things had been reduced even further they weren't allowing people to have refunds on sale items! My sis and mum told me this! Think that might have just been at the end of the sale though!
  • Not a bra, but I had bought a linen skirt from Per Una costing £40 and wore it about 6 times. The following year on its first outing, my other half noticed that the stitching was fraying. I took it back and explained that I had bought it the year previously and worn it about 1/2 dozen times. She checked the care label and said she could see it hadn't been overly washed because it hadn't faded. I got a full refund.
Last summer I bought a pair of linen trousers from per una this time on line. I wore them solidly throughout the summer till I noticed that the seem on one of the legs running down the middle was fraying. Again you could see that this was caused by the fabric being trimmed too close to the stitchin. I emailed M&S and explained the situation. I was told to take them back to the shop and got a full refund. I have had no problems with their returning faulty goods.
Incedently I machine wash all my bras and buy them from either Asda or Bravmissio.
:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:
  • A result! After going into the M & S store for a refund on bras and getting no joy there I wrote to Head Office (thanks to the lady who posted about writing to them!) I have just had a gift card with £12 put on it and a very nice letter. I just hope they change the labels on all their bras so other people are made aware of the problems that can happen with this type of bra.

Reading this makes me wish I took a problem we had with M&S last year further and had written to head office. My husband got a machine wash sweater for Christmas which was a mixture of wool, silk and nylon....it said to wash at 40 degrees, I thought it looked very delicate so washed it at 30 degrees....it went saggy and bobbly. In the past M&S had always been good at complaints, but when I took it back an aggressive sales lady told me it was my fault for washing it in a too cold wash and that there would be no refund.
  • LilySue, if your husband hasn't worn the sweater since and it was bought for this Christmas just gone you can still make a complaint. Write to Head Office enclosing the jumper as nothing ventured, nothing gained. (Get a certificate of posting from the Post Office, costs nothing only the cost of postage.)

Sorry didn't make myself clear ( it's definitely my bed -time ), he received it for the Christmas before last and we just made it into an allotment sweater. But I now know what to do if I ever have this problem again, thanks for that.
  • You're welcome.

In some stores they have a leaflet called Vogue (with Lilly Cole on the front). Inside there's a feature about what M&S is doing as part of Plan A. They say that, on the clothing label, they will now print 'can be washed at 30 degrees', or something on those lines as part of helping climate change.
So if a miserable SA gives that excuse again, show her one of those! ;)

    Take from M&S website:
We've made good progress in tackling climate change across our supply chain, operations and consumers' use of our products. In the last 12 months, we’ve reduced energy related CO2 emissions from our stores and offices by 55,000 tonnes; supported farmers who are investing in small-scale renewable energy production; opened 3 pilot ‘eco-stores’; ordered 140 new aerodynamic trailers; completed a carbon footprint for our food business; and helped shift the percentage of clothing washes done at 30C from 23% to 31%.
