Can I get refund on M & S bras?

  • No they wouldn't disappear if I ironed them Fenella. I had another go tonight trying to reshape and the outer material seems to have shrunk, leaving the inner material baggy.

Myrtle, I like your signature, but shouldn't it read Never judge anyone unless you have walked a mile in their gussets!
  • All the crap in M&S is imported from China, Bangladesh or Vietnam...long gone are the days when your (Ladies) underwear was manufactured in the United Kingdom!
  • I don't normally shop in M & S, but found myself leaning towards them (must be my age!) as I thought they sold quality items, even the cheaper stuff. Upon my purchase I noticed the label said Made in China and thought huh, I could have sworn they used to make their clothes here. How times have changed. Is there any store that sells clothes made in this country anymore?
  • I have to shop at M&S to get my bra size and I think it's shocking that they can charge over £20 for some bras and then reduce them in the sale, usually down to £1 in the end! It's hit and miss whether they'll have your size in the sale so sometimes you just have to pay full whack! Makes me feel guilty though...

I dont bother returining items to the shop but sent them direct to M and s HQ with a covering letter. Last time it was a pair of jeans that just split for no reason, not an area of wear and it was obvious they had only just been worn. Same has happened to another pair so they are going back too.
I purchased 2 padded bras before Christmas and the wash label said to wash at 40 degrees. I was being very cautious and washed them on a cold wash (20 degrees) in the machine and now they are wrinkly and puckered. I don't have the receipt (had a clear out and threw it by mistake). Would M & S allow me to exchange or have vouchers instead?

I took a bra back last year as it did not fit properly. It was withing 90 days of purchase, so I was entitled to refund.

The woman in M and S smelt the bra (she sniffed it!!! - weirdo!) and told me it had been worn(it hadnt!)

She gave me a refund, but I had the receipt!

You were lucky it was her. I sniff items on lingerie, you gotta be careful cos i know for a fact people wear them out then return them afterwards, a sniff usually does the job. Plus, we get so many people try and pull the woll over our eyes we kinda need to.

Plus, its your fault it didnt fit, you should have tried it on or got fitted into it. If you did then no problems. Although you did buy m&s bras, notoriously bad fitting across the uk, and bras in my opinion.

Also, even though it says machine washable, really all bras should be handwashed due to the wires getting caught in the drum ect. This is especially the case if the cups are moulded.
  • I'm glad I don't work at customer services. If I was told by management I'd have to sniff knickers I'd have rubber gloves and a gas mask on as a precaution!

If this were true, the manufacturers should not indicate machine washability. They would only be leaving themselves open to an enormous quantity of claims.

The wires don't get caught in the drum unless they are working out of the bra.

Really? I swear by M & S bras being an amazing fit... I'd never buy a bra from anywhere else.

As for washing them, I do think you're asking for trouble by machine-washing any bra (even if it says you can on the label).

That's a great idea. I've just e-mailed M & S and now waiting for a response. I'll keep you all updated on the result! Incidentally has anyone ordered from Debenhams, Figleaves or La Senza online and what is the delivery like? I've seen a few bras from all 3 places that look nice and wanted to find out if delivery was fast and what customer service is like before I placed an order or two! Thanks!!
