Myt partner and I went to F&B on the 7th and I am so angry
We entered the resturant around 6pm and despite the place being quite empty it still took a waiter around 2 minuites to get to us. They were too busy standing in the corner talking - and despite seeing us, continued to laugh and joke until they finally desided it was best to see to us. We were seated and our waiter was nice and friendly. he took our drink orders quickly and was near by when we were ready for the food orders. The real problem started when we started eatting our food. We ordered our favorates. Starters of Garlic Bread and Chicken wings and we both had a full rack of BBQ ribs as our main course. The garlic bread was dry and greasy to such a point I had to wash my hands after eatting what I could. The Chicken wings were moist but there was no flavour in them. You could see the BBQ sauce on top but there was no taste at all in them. When the ribs came they were so soft they fell apart at the bone rendering the sharp knife we were given totally useless. Similar to the chicken wings there was no flavour even though normally there is a strong taste of BBQ sauce. It was like mush in the mouth and both of us who are useually nashing at the bone to get as much as possible found ourselves leaving half the ribs to the side and hoping the side orders would fill us. We decided the skip the desserts which we normally have as we had faced enough dissapointment. We are still baffied as to what was going on as the place was quiet and the kitchen wasnt packed. Drinks included, our meal which we barely touched cost us £40 then we had ended up going next door and spending £10 at subway to fill us.
I don't know what I should do. Do you think I could be cheeky enough to write a letter and try and get a refund/vouchers or something?

Oh my, you waited two whole minutes?
Did you complain at the time to any of the waiters or a manager?nothing to see here, move along...0 -
you should have complained at the time
bit too late now, if the food was that bad, you wouldnt have eaten so much of it, you should have sent in straight back0 -
i always thought ribs falling of the bone was a good sign? means its well cooked and decent meat?0

If you're not happy, write a letter explaining your grievances. Simple as that!.....0

Personally I would still write and complain although I would have complianed at the time. You could say that there was no one around to complain to and you just wanted to get out of there.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ARGHH this is something that really gets my goat. If the OP had said something AT ANY POINT during the meal this would not need to be moaned about - it seems the service was good when he/she got it so why complain after the event?!
I used to work as a barman, waiter, restaurant manager, even a stand in chef in my late teens and ANY written complaints we received got a standard "sorry but you should have let us fix it when you were here" reply, with no offer of refunds etc. If a customer said (politely) that their meal was not up to scratch during their visit, they'd more than likely get a round of drinks and possibly even some of the food for free.
It's absolutely useless trying to fix a written complaint IMO as trying to appease a customer who hasn't the balls to complain at the time is not worth the time or effort.
OP - my advice is to accept that you shouldn't have sat there and continued to eat the substandard food and put it down to experience. The damage has been done now as you've gone onto an internet forum and moaned about them anyway - I only wish they knew this for their sake so they don't end up apologising!0 -
As several other posters have said complaining after you've left the restaurant is very difficult. It might still be worth writing (has worked once for me in the past) but I generally say something at the time with positive results.
That being said some people are shy and find it difficult to be confrontational about a service/product they've received. Best advice is just be really friendly - its the customers who go over the top and moan that wind up the staff.

My partner and I went to a F&B just this week and the food was great...but...
The service however was beyond belief!
The manager was a miserable git and the waitress was seriously thick.
I asked her a question about the pizza base and she replied "I dont really know what a pizza base is" (no she wasnt joking - she was dead serious)
They then served our starters after 40 mins and my partners main course with her starter. My main came around 20 mins later after my partner had finished hers! It was a real mess. Side order of chips came after the mains!
I asked the thick waitress why this had happened she replied "err I dunno some one in the kitchen gave it to me"
The people on the other table were giggling at her stupidity throughout - was really embarrassing and very poor!
Having spent £40 there, I would have expected a lot better! Wont be returning there in a hurry.Bismillah0 -
When it comes to waiting 2 mins it isnt long but concidering that he looked at me and looked !!!!ed off then ignored me to continue flirting...thats what annoyed me.
I didn't complain at the time because we had 3 different people serving us and i know my temper can get out of hand if im getting very annoyed. My other half doesnt do scenes either.
I have been a waitress too and if there was a problem we actually cared about our customers. As for a free round of drinks or free food. It was !!!! food, I didn't want any more. My partner and I don't drink either so thanks but cola that you give to the staff for free is a joke.Debts: Gym £[strike]465.75[/strike] Student account [strike]£1039.88[/strike] Overdraft [strike]£129.00[/strike] Credit Card [strike]£2772.22[/strike] Loan [strike]£6222.01 [/strike]

This sounds like the typical food and service you get in a chain type restaurant-thats why I rarely use them if its up to me.0
