Cheers
Yes will need ftp-ing but it is not a binary so no compiling.
Takes 2 minutes to FTP over. Also the chap who did the Krayzie NDURE have suggests you do not use auto installers.0 -
Hi, I got the save files onto my hard drive, put in splintercell, selected linux then checkpoints.... and the Xbox says Xbox does not recognise this disc, it may be damaged or dirty.
Does this mean that a) the saves didn't transfer properly
b) I've got the wrong version of splintercell
c) something else entirely?
Any advice greatly appreciated0 -
Could be the wrong version of splinter cell.... Is it the original one (not classic)0
-
It is the classic version, I did see someone saying they'd used it, but I think it may be too new a version?
Damn, and I'm waiting for a parcel or I'd go get another one. Annoying thing is, there were two types when I bought it. Is there any easy way of telling which I want?0 -
The original... Classics are a bit of a hit and a miss and the chances of getting a working one can be slim0
-
So basically, if it doesn't say Classic, I want it?
Ok, might go ring Gamestation and see if they've got the other copy still. Thanks

Was yours the classic one with the bonus disc?
I used an xbox-usb lead, and a Kingston 1gb Datatraveler. The Xbox recognised it fine, and copied the saves from it. I've recopied them to the usb thing, I'll try readding them to the Xbox before I try the new copy of the game.
I just hope the Xbox isn't faulty, it looks immaculately clean for a 2002 model, but I have had trouble with another game on it, that loads and plays, but comes up with a 'disc may be dirty or scratched' error every time we reach the second level.0 -

i got my splinter cell in game in portsmouth for 98p.if you cant find an original in the shops try getting it from the library as they do xbox games.0 -
Hmmm, maybe it's not the game then ... how can I tell if the Xbox is faulty? We've only got two games and a demo, the demo works fine but we've had trouble with both games.
I read on a forum somewhere that someone had used the datatraveler, so I ordered it. If the Xbox recognises it, then it works as far as I know. It read it no problem and transferred the saves. Maybe I'll try transferring the saves again tonight before I go for the new Splintercell?0
