I believe I do have a right to complain if anyone, child or adult, is behaving in a disruptive manner in a pub
if the management choose to do nothing about it, no problem, I'll take my custom elsewhere

I would venture that Wetherspoons have introduced the 2-drink-rule because they have had numerous complaints and/or are losing customers because of parents buying a cheap meal, sitting drinking all day & letting their kids run riot
which is a real shame for the responsible parents who'd like to linger over their meal with a little aperetif, a drink or two with the food & maybe a liqueur afterwards

Maybe i'm living to much of a relaxed chilled out life...

...maybe I should complain about those stuck up people who look down their noses at people with children. Maybe if we all did that they would ban stuck up people from pubs lol.

Anyway lets just leave it now, not getting through to you. difference of opinion. I just feel sorry for those who have to moan and complain about others to make themselves feel good. :grouphug:

You keep telling yourself that as your blood boils next time you see children in P.U.B.L.I.C.

lmao ... we're getting into 'last word' territory

kids don't make my 'blood boil' (your words) lol, if they did I'd be in trouble, I've 3 of my own & stepkids
it's a choice ... like you, if I don't like who I'm around, whether child or adult, I go elsewhere, simple & stress-free solution :)

I voiced an opinion which I'm entitled to, as you are yours
I've no more to say, we've done this to death, & we're waaay off-topic

I appologise if you think that I am dissagreeing with the owner of the public house for having a certain policy, because I am not.

I am irritated by the public that overly express their opinion. It's ok to have an opinion but not to force it on others. Everyone has the right to be anywhere, if I don't like you I go somewhere else, i don't try and wine on until you go somewhere else!!
i think the key part of this comment is "go somewhere else" which is exactly what people can choose to do if they don't like Wetherspoons policy.

don't see what the problem is or why people are kicking up a fuss.

    You talk sense!!!

Most of the people that moan about kids ain't got any, or any at home!!!
Before my 2 came along, I watched kids playing up in public places and blamed the parents...no..no..no .... my opinion has changed now. ;)

Sometimes you'd wish the ground would open up and suck you in to avoid embarrassment, then when you get home you argue with your partner saying never again!!:o

Public means open to the public - not the public including kids can do what they want. I know that kids can act up, even the best behaved kids. I don't get all worked up about it, it's natural it's not the end of the world, I did it, you did it we all did it.

But maybe after the first twenty minutes of the kid crying running around screaming etc. most responsible parents would maybe think about a change of scene and not about their next drink. It's the ones that just think !!!! it I am as well putting up with it here instead of elsewhere at least I can a get a few more down my neck that have made this policy be imposed on everyone else.
