I have just used glasses direct to have my glasses made up (needed a cheap pair for distance/out and about - usually wear varifocals). Quick and good. Use free eye test and them take copy of prescription and order

David Clulow Opticians in Oxford and Cobham branches have £10 sight test advertised at these stores. You get sight test then buy spectacles the £10 is deducted. I work there and promise I'm not spamming, just trying to let everyone know.
