Looks like the free eye test offer has ended and they're now only offering half price ones!

I expect the up take after the latest MSE newsletter being sent out might have something to do with it ;)

I couldn't see it either so I searched on Google and found this link - it worked for me!

    TescoMum,

Cheers for this link, however it stipluates that - "This offer is only available at the following branches:London Balham, Dartford, Clapham, Bexley Heath, Eltham, Croydon London, Sutton, Morden, Woolwich and Wimbledon."

    Army.
  • It appears that the voucher is now only available at these stores:
London Balham, Dartford, Clapham, Bexley Heath, Eltham, Croydon London, Sutton, Morden, Woolwich and Wimbledon.

    Damn.

Also, I would like to point out how utterly ripped off we are in the UK for glasses and lenses. I was working in Cambodia earlier last year and broke my glasses. I visited an optics shop in the capital city where they tested my old lenses to get my prescription and then sold me a pair of multi-coated lenses (the anti-glare type, still no scratches on them) and some Italian made frames (I'm not too picky but these look as smart and contemporary as ones you'll find in any high-street optician) all the for the princely sum of $20.
    Yes, under a tenner.
I still can't believe it and they are the best, most comfortable glasses I have ever owned. Plus, I have put them through their paces having taken them to various remote tropical destinations since.

I know most people can't just pop to Cambodia but it simply highlights the true value of these items in terms of production costs considering how much we are charged on the high-street (~£100 for a cheap pair of frames and lenses?)

I thought about my experience and considered going into business buying frames and lenses from these suppliers in the east and undercutting the high street shops. When I returned, I found that there were already a few companies that had beaten me to it and can be found selling very reasonably priced items on the internet.

    Cheerio,

    H

They obviously got too many requests and so took it down so they could amend it and limit the branches!!!

Sadly my eyesight isn't good enough to find my way to any of these branches.:embarasse

Just in case TescoMums link stops working, don't forget to try Google's page cache!
