I have telephoned today to use the Mastercard 15% discount only to be told that it expired on 31/3/08.
Just sent them a copy of the terms and conditions and they have said their supervisor will look at it and get back to me.
She said all they have now is a 5% discount!!0 -
It was do do with getting 'bumped', but is probably not an option as you have a connecting flight from ORD.
IIRC the chances diminish greatly if you are not on a direct flight.
Not always-especially when travelling through a hub like Chicago.
I was flying LAS LAX LHR and was offered a bump LAS LAX in November. $200 each-for 40 min wait......and still plenty of time to catch the connecting flightI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I did not say it was impossible, just reduces your chances.
This is because a USA domestic 'bump' is a lot cheaper for the airline than an International one.
If there is plenty of time between connections you may still get a bump, (as above) but the airline staff will take the easy option and pick someone who isn't connecting to another flight (especially International).
Still worthwhile trying to figure this in to any plans if possible.0 -
I have telephoned AA and tried to get the 15% discount.
On line my fare was 492.70. (LHR - JFK returning frim MIA - LHR)
The call center said the master offer exp 31/03 and the new offer was 5% which was gained by quoting "mcard".
I advised that I had the advert and it had no exp date showing. She advised I would have to take that up with mastercard as it's from there site.
I asked if she could quote me with the 5% discount. She advised with the discount the fare was 614.50! I advised of the online cost. She said to place a hold booking for it online and to call back as they could not match web fares.
I have done that and got the fare for 477.50 as the discount is only off the fare and not the taxes.
Considering the same flight with virgin at more or less the same times is 945.00 at the moment it's not a bad fare for August.
Thanks for all the help.

Can AA legally cut short thier offers when the mastercard clearly states the discount is until the end of the year, and if so, who is responsible?0

Yes Blindman, but my link is a different URL and can still be see on their website whilst your link has been removed.
Is there a way one can force AA into honouring their deal?0
