Manipulating the American Airlines booking computer

Hi,
Just phoned AA they tell me they think 15% discount expired 31/03/08.
They then asked me what the code was, when i said 'Master' they were of the opinion that this should be followed by some numbers??
I think from this conversation that the 'Master' code may have expired, but that there may be another 'promo' on, and he was fishing to see if i knew the code??
Anyone got any idea what's going on?
The promo runs until 31 Dec 2008
The CS rep obviously doesn't know about it.
Ring back and if you get another numpty then insist on speaking to a supervisor.
I have (somewhere) a print out of the T&C's.
If you get a problem (again) I can email it to you.
Good luck0 -

blindman, I'm just about to activate the 'Challenge' for the four of us - quick question, who do I contact to do it ? AA customer services, or AAAdvantage ?0

MTC I can't believe you don't read your own thread.
Page 1 is a good place to start
IIRC after I had booked the flight through CS I asked about the Challenge and she put me through to AAdvantage line.
So IMHO I'd start at the AAdvantage line.
It was all very simple0 -

Noone to blame but meI ran a 'search' on the thread for challenge, but it only picked up from post # 150 onwards. I knew that there was a lot of challenge related stuff on the thread, I just missed the damned obvious ones :rotfl:
thank goodness its simple :A
Bish bosh done. The AAAdvantage man wanted to put me on Gold Challenge, but after I asked/suggested that he could do Platinum for me, Platinum it is :j0 -
Done and done.
Stoopid people! Third time lucky though.
I'm going to NYC, and on to LA. Lot's of love for you guys in this thread. Only saved £10 over US airlines. But qualifying for platinum challenge with this flight alone.
Again many thanks Blindman, and of coarse MTC.
Dan.
Oh yeah, and flying from MAN, so took the advice on sitting within the front partition of economy on the MAN-ORD-MAN legs.0 -
Glad it worked out.
How much did you 'save' ?
Is your route MAN-ORD-NYC
Are you stopping over in NYC and then onto LA?
I have a further suggestion to make....0
