I wish tesco would vary the colour of it's Value range!!

Also don't forget to compare prices of value and own brands.
Sainsburys have a long term offer of Apple/Orange juice where you buy 2 X 4 packs for £4 that makes them £0.50p each and value is 58p. I know it is only a saving of 68p but when you compare that each carton of multi-packs is in the region of 75p each
And yes I do buy value when I can.

What a brilliant thread - I've really enjoyed reading it this morning, and been smiling away and giggling quietly away to myself.....
I buy other Value stuff as well as the biccys, and add lots of little extras. Their cheapie pizzas are one example specially when they are in the bargain bin.
Last week I got one of those monster value pizzas for 50p, and topped it off with knocked down Mozerella at 10p a pack, some onions and knocked-down green pepper for 10p as well.
Added homemade oven dried garlic cherry tomatoes and a sachet of chilli flakes knicked from the Costco restaurant.
I love doing things like that - Asda is fab as well for value stuff. I don't do a weekly meal plan as such anymore. I go to Tesco or Asda, buy up loads of reduced stuff get it home and have a monster cook-up.
Sometimes I've stayed up till 2am cooking away. It does mean I have a full to bursting freezer though.....
I mean how can a peeps resist when there's two boxes of Finest Lobster at something like £14 quid a throw reduced down to £2 quid ?
Oh and BTW I love putting a knob of butter in Value baked beans as it thickens then up and makes them go all creamy...
Sorry must stop drooling over the 'puter keyboard...
Custard cream or Pickled onion anyone....?

Yes, 1 or 2 colour will make a difference to the basic cost price. I was suprised to see that Tesco now have full colour images on some stuff - their tinned tomatoes is one example. Unless they have put the price up by a penny or so, they must be absorbing the extra print costs elsewhere.
We buy Tesco Value Tinned Tomatoes and they HAVE increased the price. :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Only thing I'd say about Tesco value is watch out for the milk/orange juice!! Nothing wrong with either and in fact the orange is rather tasty but it just doesn't go well with your cup of tea first thing in the morning
they changed the packaging to include a picture of an orange on it but at quick glance its still easy enough for people like me to mistake it
I so agree with this the amount of time my cereal has ended up with orange juice on it!!!! argh...0 -

In all fairness - the first 'Tesco Value' product that I ever purchased was the 'Orange Juice' - Long before I found this site.
For years it was the only 'value' product I would buy, and we would tend to cover it with other branded products, in the trolley.
Oh the 'shame' of admitting to buying 'Tesco Value' products.:rotfl: :rotfl:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

blimey - didn't realise so many of us spoke latin. In answer to your earlier question Bettie, i just love catullus's poetry, they way he expresses the feeling of love/lust.
Back on topic, i love having my blue / white tesco shop, and when people give me funny looks i can't help but smirk smugly. I'm the only one who ever ventures into the kitchen cupboards so OH doesn't even know that I no longer shop at Sainsburys, he hasn't ever noticed a difference. Bless him!odi et amo0 -

so am I the only one who had to google the latin?
