I was quite proud of my stripey shop last night. Though shame on the person who said Value custard creams were just divine............they are and I'm ashamed to say I sat and ate quite a few in one sitting after getting the notion for them after reading the thread yesterday. Bang goes the diet.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

Oooh sorry, but your post did make me grin....that happens to me, someone talking about say a hot bags of chips or a cheese and Onion sarnie and I'll end up drooling till I get my own. And until I do, I can'tthink about anything else to eat.

Current food craving is Tesco's own silverskin tangy pickled onions - not Value alas but I can eat a whole jar in one go.....

I'm not a custard cream girl, but I do know how to polish off a packet of bourbons (Value or Smartprice ones are excellent for this mission!) fairly fast

You know what!!
Since being on here and taking the plunge and control of finances I love Tesco Value products (there are a few items we don't like though)
But my whole way of thinking has changed.. Rather than think Wow they are lucky to afford that posh new car I think.... Poor them with all that debt hanging around them!
I don't care what anyone thinks of my shopping trolly, we get loads for alot less than they do.. hence we manage to eat really well without it costing the earth... Got to be good.:T0 -
How much did you save compared to a normal shop?angelflower wrote: »after reading this thread past couple of days, gave myself a challenge. Try and do ALL the shopping in value labels only.
So I did ok. Only things which werent were
dd's requested treat 1 tin ravioli
warburtons loaf (hate other bread so false economy buying as it goes in bin)
fresh pork (didnt have a value one??)
loose satsumas
milk
anchor spreadable (although did get large tub value soft spread for all my baking)
Thats going to be my new challenge!!!! Getting all shopping in the value range

I love pickled onions too just wish they did them in the value range but have noticed the cocktail onions at 62p for a large jar they are a fraction of the price of the larger pickled onions so I sneaked a jar into the trolley last night.
The Value chicken sandwich spread is really nice, 19p I think (haven't got my receipt to hand).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
