New account from 9th showing on their website, 6.70% but I note that the rate only goes to Feb 08 rather than March 08 with the last version.

Yes.

FWIW I can confirm that Chelsea will accept the 4th Fixed rate (closed on Mon) as long as you get the money and form to them by Monday 14th Jan. I spoke to their head office yesterday and have opened said account (Fixed with monthly interest @ 6.70% Gross) this morning at a local branch.

Which is the same rate as Nationwide's e-bond (6.70) also.

think you have to have a current account with the nationwide though so no good for most folk

I now have one of the old application forms thanks to nilrem

Am a little confused by this thread: one post said that applications will be honoured up until 14 Jan but a later post said the "6.65%" will be honoured until 18 Jan? Does anyone know for sure the last date to submit an application for the 6.90% bond?

Also: I have money in ING & Icesave. Is there any way I can get that into my current account (cleared) in time to open a Chelsea bond, if the last application date is the 14th?

(I really should know this....)
