For the amount that you need for a holiday you must have to spend a fortune?
Do you? Is there a knack to collecting points? Would love to know.

well done JM-1972. did you pay cash for the extra nights? that was really good of Virgin to do that for you.when we booked last year for florida they told us there was no flight left from Edi-Fort Myers with Delta so i booked to go from Manchester then i discovered there was still seats and phoned. they changed me back to Edi and refunded me the £20 extra i paid to leave from Man and return to Edi.Don't know how the mistake happened but i was thinking maybe if the seat prices go too high they stop using them and when they go down they get put back on the system. anyway good for Virgin.

I have been having holidays courtesy of Tescos for about 5/6 years now. We have recently booked the Golden triangle tour (India) with Virgin and paid for £2,500 of balance with Virgin holiday vouchers. It took us 18 months to save for this but was well worth it. You need to have your vouchers bought and ready to book. There was no difficulty with this, remeber to register the postage when you send these, as they are 'money' in post.
We have a Tesco credit card which we have had for some years now and we use it to pay for everything (always pay it off in full). We always take advantage of extra clubcard point deals and the points soon add up!
We have had a holiday in Brittany (Haven the 1st one), Amsterdam, Belgium, and Holland all centreparc hols. I think they've totalled £4,500 all paid in full with Tescos vouchers. Do it, it's more than worth the little bit of effort it takes to collect the points.:j

We're off next month to Florida, with Virgin, got £650 off with Tesco Deals vouchers, have also just booked for next year (2009), again with Virgin, to Nevada, Arizona and California, using £1300 deals vouchers.

The problem with the Tesco Credit Card is that you only earn .5% on purchases outside of Tesco. Whereas I get 1% on my Capital One Mastercard. I used to use both the mastercard and amex but recently gave up amex because they dropped their cashback.

However, before you all shout at me I realise that despite only get .5% with Tesco for outside purchases they are worth the equivalent of 2% in deals. Although I still maintain that the prices on some of the deals are inflated because you cannot get the online discounts.

I have just looked at my cc bills for 2006 and I spent just shy of £28k on cc's.
Who can work this out for me approx £7.5k of that would have been on food the rest would have been on Sales outside of Tesco.

The more you use it, the more you get back! - If you pay with your Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco or Tesco.com, you'll get 5 points for every £4 spent!
And, every time you spend £4 on your Clubcard Credit Card, no matter where else, we'll give you 1 Clubcard Point.
At the end of each quarter we'll send you Clubcard vouchers for:

• the points you've collected in-store
• the extra points you earn when you use your Clubcard Credit Card

I have just pulled this off the Tesco website they are not eactly giving much away are they. You can already get 1% by using your regular clubcard plus 1% on your credit card. Tesco give you an extra .25% per £1 for money spent in Tesco and .25% spent outside of Tesco.

So according to my calculations, had I been using a Tesco CC in 2006 I would have earned approx £221 in vouchers, still not giving enough for a holiday. However if you can have them put back into your tesco account a revalidated then that might be an option.

I have used them a couple of times now, with no problems. I cant understand why people still use them in store! I used them once against a holiday that was later cancelled by the tour operator. Tesco sent me new vouchers with another two years 'life' on them, so I saved for a bit longer and am off to LA in 5 weeks with a saving of £1400.

Can anybody describe what personal information appears on the Virgin deals vouchers? Is it just surname?

I'm trying to work out if I can get away with combining my vouchers with my Mothers? Thanks all.
