What is the best thing to do.Can you pay for flights with the vouchers,or change the vouchers into Airmiles.Also do you have to use the airmiles before a certain time.

Virgin don't allow you to use Tescvo vouchers for flights or flydrive. Airmiles conversion from Tesco is a pretty poor conversion rate but they will stay on your airmiles account indefinitely.

Most insurances won't cover you for the value of the Tesco vouchers in the event of a cancellation but here are some options.

Tesco Worldwide(USA + Canada) annual cover inc 22 days winter sports. 2 Adults 1Child. £124.20. Another poster has been told that Tesco only cover the first £250 worth of vouchers, when I rang todayTesco claims department denied having a £250 limit and said cover would be up to the policy limit £2500 per person. Points added back to the clubcard for successful claims. Medical cover £2million.

Travel Insurance Web Worldwide (USA + Canada) annual cover inc 21 days wintersports 2 Adults 1 Child £97.35. Airmiles or other vouchers covered to the policy limit of £3000 per person. If vouchers not available to refund then monetary compensation to the lowest commercial fare/package available for the time of travel. Medical cover £5million. Pre-existing medical condition in our case covered at no extra cost.

Last year we did a 'tailor-made' holiday to San Fransisco and Las Vegas paid mainly by Tesco vouchers. I booked it over the telephone and so did not see the actual breakdown, but the total price seemed reasonable. However, when I received the actual details, I found that we had been charged £700 for 3 of us for the domestic part of the trip (Edinburgh-London-Edinburgh). Next time - hoping to do Boston next year - I will book Virgin flying from London and arrange the domestic flights Edinburgh-London return myself.

we're thinking of using our tesco vouchers to get virgin holiday vouchers from next year and i understand from this thread (albeit the last post was a few years ago now) that you have to have all of the vouchers in your hand at the point of booking your holiday - can anyone confirm if this is still the case?

If it were me, I would check the price of the chosen Virgin holiday...then check the price for a DIY booking of the same thing. It may well still be a good deal to use Tesco vouchers, but anytime I've looked at VH they've been vastly overpriced so it may not be as much of a savings as it first seems.

We got an amazing deal with Virgin to Bali last year using Tesco vouchers
