Autumnal Achieving
Comments

I have a few bits and bobs I need to do -
- moving house so everything that comes with that!
sort summer clothes out of wardrobe - done- catch up with all my various medical appointments
- buy a couple more cosy jumpers, I've been searching Vinted and charity shops
It's been a tough year for me so I'm keeping it quite basic and letting myself rest and enjoy the autumnal season as best I can. Nice to read about everyone else's goals and achievements!

Monthly big clean done apart from kitchen appliances. Looking forward to living in a flat again in future, cleaning a house is far too much work 😂

Quite a lot of things sorted and crossed off my list over the past few days, so I am feeling good 😊
Builders turned up this morning with a cement mixer, and I now have a perfectly level shed base awaiting the new shed which is scheduled to be built on 26th.
I’ve been giving away bits on Freecycle too @KintsugiWhippet and it really is rewarding when someone is grateful. I was on the receiving end today, someone was giving away some large, beautiful rockery stones which are just perfect for the alpine garden I am creating. It’s nearly finished now, I just need to empty one of the compost bins to create pockets of planting spaces between the rocks and then plant up with the alpines (which I already have, I bought them as garden centre half-dead reductions a couple of weeks ago and they are looking really good again after a little tlc).
I bought a white hellebore and a white gaultheria yesterday and planted those today to start off what will eventually be my White Garden.
I had my flu jab this morning too, and thankfully no sore arm.

Still trying to get my last works pension sorted into payment. I had an email from them on 30/9 saying there were 2 documents missing that needed to be completed and sent back. There was an attachment that couldn't be opened because it was corrupt. Rang them up after a couple of days and they said paper copies had been posted and should be received "soon" but they would try resending the email which they did. That attachment was corrupt as well. I waited a week to see if anything came in the post (local service is dismal) but still haven't received anything.
Now knowing that these administrators have form for getting things wrong (2 other pensions with them took ages to sort) I decided to go through the stack of paperwork I've received previously to see what forms might be lurking. I rang them today to ask which forms were actually required. Finally got through, (4! minutes of options!!) and tried to discuss the matter with some chap who was either talking over me or saying he couldn't hear what I was saying and then the line went dead. Fortunately he rang back after a couple of minutes and I've now sorted out the paperwork. And rather than posting it apparently I can scan and email!! Of course that means I have to go to the library (when?) to use their scanner but hopefully I can do that in the coming week and get this money into my greedy paws!!

Vote here for frittata too. My go to whenever I have leftovers. I love it with Branston baked beans and some chilli sauce 🤤

I probably should have mentioned I'm currently getting 5 eggs a day from the chooks, so also looking for a variety of ideas 🤣 I don't plan on eating 5 eggs a day, but if I could eat maybe a dozen a week it would really help to keep the stores down. I've made some Yorkshire puds for the freezer, and I'm making egg mayo for lunch today and tomorrow. The chickens should slow down soon 🤞🏼
The chicken quarantine bathroom is being cleaned, the coops are being cleaned, the new chooks are spending a few hours in the garden, and a neighbour is securing the side gate for me. I'm getting somewhere slowly!

When I kept chickens and there was a surplus of eggs (not that often to be honest, everyone at work used to queue up to buy them), I used to beat two or three raw eggs with a pinch of salt then freeze them in bags to see me through the non-laying months. They kept well, would defrost quite quickly, and I would then use them for cakes, omelettes, scrambled eggs, frittatas etc etc.

I have an electric tricycle that I thoroughly recommend. I live in Scotland so hill tested 😃
