Set up new bank card in various places. Probably should have done this before all the payments failed 🤣

I have been quite productive today. I went to my reflexology appointment and she said my chest feels congested and I had been clearing my throat a few times so I went to the pharmacy and bought Vicks 1st Defence spray and high strength Vitamin C. I was on the list for the flu jab at another pharmacy, but he said they do it there now so I got my jab and also had my blood pressure taken.
I went and put a dress in for altering as I wanted it shorter and it is green and I have to go to an event wearing green so I thought I would get it done as another option. I'm about to do a load of laundry. It feels much cooler today and I got caught in the rain twice!

Laundry today? Its raining non-stop!!
I'm hoping it will make a difference to the holes that I have dug but hit ground as hard as concrete.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -
^I will just hang the laundry up indoors.

Some OATs this week:
- Plumber came to top up anti freeze in my new build heat pump. I have to use the builder’s plumber for another year to benefit from the guarantee. I really do not have a good feeling about the main man, and have been dreading him coming back to sort a problem caused by him being ‘tight’ with the anti freeze when the system was installed. Fortunately he sent his brother (who admitted the ‘tightness’) and he is at least pleasant. This saga was causing me sleepless nights.
- My bike, which I love, has gone to a new lovely home via freecycle. It is a fake Pashley which I can’t use safely here because of the huge hills (I live in the Chilterns now) and the HS2 lorries haring down the country lanes. I saw that someone wanted a ladies bike on freecycle. On the spur of the moment I offered mine. Had to do rapid bike tlc as they wanted to collect it immediately. A lady about my age (lives in town not in the local mountains!) and her husband came to collect and she was crying with delight. I nearly cried too. When freecycle works, it is a wonderful thing. I’ve always wanted a Vespa which would be easier on the hills but probably just as unsafe with the lorries. Mulling over whether to buy one with my retirement tax free lump sum (not huge but I seem to have it in my head that it’s a magic money tree).
- I cleaned a bathroom. I don’t know why I find this task so time consuming (perfectionism I suspect). Now I don’t want to use it!
- Flu jab this pm.
Have a lovely day, everyone and thank you for helping me to be accountable.

I'm still house sitting until this evening but I did nip home this morning and took some clothes home. I put a wash on delayed start so hopefully it will finish around the time I nip back to put the chooks away 🤞🏼
I've got my big shop being delivered this evening too. I bought some nice bread to start using up the stew type things in the freezer.
I have 50 eggs to use up so need to get creative. I've boiled 10 for dog snacks.
I'll do a mini tidy tonight just to say I've started it, my house is quite disgusting from dashing in and out all week. Tomorrow will be a day or mostly cleaning. Not the nice relaxing weekend I really need but the housework is too bad to ignore, even with my low standards!!

I have plumbed the washing machine in all by myself and it hasn't leaked :) So after running a drum clean (it stank after being left closed for a week to avoid getting plaster dust in it), I've got a hot wash on to make the most of the negative electricity pricing. I should get it dried on negative pricing too.
Electricians helped me move all the appliances yesterday which was nice of them (to be fair, I asked them at a point when two of them were watching the third do something), so I've got a lot of space back and in theory can start washing down the walls in the downstairs loo and pulling out wall plugs and prepping it for the decorator.
However, today's jobs (in between using as much electricity as possible) are going to involve moving logs and strimming/raking/mowing grass. If I have any energy this evening I might try to work out how to move a table that is too chunky to get through the kitchen/utility room door. I either need someone to help OR to take it round the outside as I think it should get through that way…

You could also boil some for yourself. They keep wrapped in cling film for a week. I sometimes make scotch eggs with them if I’ve got some sausages to use up. Never bother with the breadcrumbs just bake them in the oven or air fryer.

A nice OAT for me today- paid £1000 cash into the bank. Mr C is often paid in cash, and we like to have a bit on hand in case of emergencies, but it was building up, so it was good to pay it in.
Then the guy came round with money for the car we got rid of last week so that was more cash 😂😂 Just £140 though so that can sit in the pot for a while. Feels good to have that ticked off too - I was wondering when he was going to turn up.

Eggs - make frittata (if you have any veg/cheese/leftovers you can chuck in). It freezes and reheats well and you'll have meals for weeks!
I've changed some cupboard knobs, moved a table, used lots of negatively priced electricity, and shifted about 50% of the logs from outside into the log store. I do need to start shifting the burnable stuff from outside into the house.
I'm now lying on the sofa contemplating the fact that I need to do some strimming, but have realised I could have a cup of coffee first. It would use some electricity!
