Ah the leisured rich with time on their hands :)

If I was rich I wouldn't need to be fannying around with savings accounts that take three weeks to open.

Must be great to be able to make such assumptions.
No matter, if you don't have the time to apply for better rates, entirely up to you. I've found most accounts take very little time to open, albeit this one took a while due to staff being inundated with applications. Those who applied right away had no problem.2 -
But you have time ! The worst accounts of all are the ones that claim they will do all that work for you if you give all your money to them and they will constantly bounce it around to make sure it's always in the best accounts - claiming to optimise your money while actually retaining control of it for their own benefit,

Name it/them?

I'm sure you know who they are.

it is quite normal that rates in easy access accounts change over time, with any provider you can mention.
Transferring between accounts is generally childsplay these days, the most ‘complicated’ step perhaps being that you normally have to go via your linked current account. If you don’t have time to look after your money, you shouldn’t be surprised if you don’t get the best deals.
I am not trying to excuse the extraordinary length of time FA are taking over some of the applications. They were probably swamped with applications after the account got mentioned in the MSE weekly email which goes to over 4 million subscribers. Also, many of the first applicants, myself included, had their FA account opened and funded in minutes.

Some people have time to hang out on user forums, posting warnings where there’s nothing to warn about 🤣
I am not aware of any providers who “will constantly bounce it around to make sure it's always in the best accounts”. I suppose you are referring to savings platforms like Raisin or Flagstone etc but none of them bounce your money around, or make sure you always get the best accounts. They don’t even have the best accounts 99% of the time, not to talk about ever moving your money without your explicit instructions 😎.If I have misunderstood, please do provide links to providers who offer the bouncing services.

Me neither.
