4 Sept to 6 Oct for me. I moved my savings across about 10 mins ago, and they're not showing yet, so I'm keeping everything crossed it doesn't take as long for them to arrive! I'll check in an hour or so.

UPDATE: I ended up checking the source account, and First Active had rejected the payment! I ended up having to move it via the nominated account, and it then worked.

I've known savings only paying out to nominated accounts, but in as well? Hey ho, it's earning interest now at least.

Quote normal and common for savigns groups to only accept it in from nominated accounts: it means they can be "sort of" assured to an extent of where the money comes from, which in turn reduces the amount of AML checks they need to do.

32 days and several "we're sorry" emails later and my account still isn't open. I opened a Spring account on the same day and that opened instantly and has already paid interest. What on earth are they doing that takes so long? Is there literally a single intern going through each application with a pen & paper? Checking identity should take a matter of minutes with today's tech. I'm already a Natwest account holder anyway, so they should know who I am.

One further annoyance is the emails all state "We’re still receiving a lot more applications than usual", which is nonsense, as they closed applications for the account a month ago. The real reason is that they are incompetent.

Make sure they don't reduce the interest rate while you are waiting for them to process your application.

I recieved a sorry email around 11 today and account opened email around 3pm. Applied on 8 September. Not sure I'll keep the account.

Why do you keep repeating this? It's been made clear in every communication from FA that the rate is secured, despite the delay and there are no reports in this thread or anywhere else that suggest otherwise.

In fact there have been multiple confirmations (prompted by the OP's questioning) that the rate is indeed being honoured.
