Do anyone know if the everyday saver can be closed online or within the app?

It's got a fixed expiry date, so you can still open at the end of the month (if it's still available), but you'll lose a month's interest doing that.
There's other regular savers with fixed expiry dates too - Market Harborough, Suffolk spring to mind

The known work around is to use the "Close an account" option in the app, or in the browser. The form that it brings up is headed "Close your current account", but it can also be used for closing a savings account (with a nil balance).
Note that it brings up a blank form, and you have to then type in the sort code and account number for the savings account to be closed, and for the destination account for any residual interest (which can be the VM current account).
Due to this, I prefer to do this on a PC browser session (if that is an option), as it's easier to copy and paste the account numbers. It's still possible to use the app, but the account numbers would need to be noted from the main section of the app before opening the account closure form.

OK, it's possible, but it's pointless.

Anyone else having problems opening this? Getting to the submit screen, waiting a while, then getting an error saying. "Sorry, it looks like there’s been a technical problem." … call us etc

Yes, I think that's a common problem. If you keep trying, it does seem to work eventually.

I managed first time yesterday morning. Confirmation of Payee (CoP) wasn't working when I tried to send from my non-Virgin account, but I don't think that's unusual. I must have checked the sort code and account number a dozen times!

Opened mine last Friday (04/09) usiusing online banking and didn't have any problems opening the account. When I tried to transfer the 1st £250 from my VM iSA it couldn't Confirm my new account details were correct, but I knew they were so I went ahead anyway. Account later appeared on the App with the £250 credit showing.
