Mine still showed as a Regular Saver at 6.5% yesterday. It has changed to an Everyday Saver at 1.74% overnight.
I'm surprised there isn't a Regular Saver on sale to replace it - and looking at what's available, Virgin's range of non-ISA savings accounts is quite poor. I wonder if this is a subtle attempt to "nudge" customers towards the Nationwide equivelents?

I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that there is no replacement RS yet. The way Virgin do RSs with fixed maturity dates, there have always been periods when no RS was available, and moments when you could squeeze 14 payments into a nominal one year RS.

Regular Saver 7 available now at 6.5%, I noticed in the app this morning. Not the best available but better than standard instant access rate so I'll siphon off £250 a month into this.

The Regular Saver 7 is a full 13 months for those who got in on the first day, so a 13th payment is obviously possible, and expected, but there's no opportunity to open at the end of a month and add the second payment a day or two later, which is where the normal 13 payments trick actually benefits.

If you have maxed out better paying accounts then the new VRS7 isn`t to be sniffed at. There are minimal restrictions - you can get 13 payments in, it`s fixed at 6.5% so Virgin can`t drop the interest rate, if you do not have the funds at present you can open with a £1 and miss as many monthly payments as you like and you can make as many withdrawals as you like.
