Hi,
I've received a 20 month interest-free Barclays card in order to transfer balance of £1500 from Very account, which charges me 39.7 APR. When I called Barcleays to transfer the balance they refused me saying they only transfer balance from actual cards, which Very doesn't give - I just have an account. Been paying faithfully, probably because have a history of being very unwise when it comes to money. I'd love to stop "feeding" Very the 39.7 APR with my hard-earned cash, but don't know how, can anybody help?
I paid off my Very catalogue with a Mint card then done a b/transfer onto the Barclaycard from that.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Someone will probably be along to better advise but ( not knowing what a very account is ) I think you can get cards that allow BT's from ( or is it to) bank accounts .. Or if you had a seperate card could you pay off the Very account with it then do the BT using that card and the new Barclays one
Thank you Molley and Scott, I haven't thought of that, I have an unused Visa card, if I just pay with that do you think I'd be charged? Very is an online catalogue, they do sell good stuff!!0 -

I have used a CC to pay off a debt on a 12 months interest free account that was due and it was just another purchase .In your case it won't be on the card for long will it so the interest on that amount will probably be nil.0 -
There is no doubt that the forum contains latest information and techniques. Thanks for all of that.0

Hey there.
I have around £2000 owed on a barclaycard (15.9%apr) and a £500 owed on a virgin card(on 0% bt deal) but these are both pretty much at their limits. I am about to graduate and start a full time job, so i was wondering what would be the best way to begin to clear this debt? Not sure if i should be applying for yet more credit as i have recently opened a catalogue account (but owe nothing on it), and have a few smaller debts. Any help would be much appreciated!0 -

Hi all,
I'm sure someone here can help. this is on behalf of my partner, he has a Halifax Credit Card which he is paying off monthly approx debt £2600 atm, he has another current account with Halifax where he puts his rent money, I think currently Halifax are taking about £30 per month and this is going out from his rent account, therefore when he goes to pay the rent there is not enough there. I suggested he did a 0% balance transfer of the debt and we tried the Barclaycard Platinum off the site but the minimum paymetn was about £50 per month (and he was refused anyway).
Would it be better tocarry on with the existing Halifax debt and reroute the standing order from his current account or should he try another 0% credit transfer - are there any that accept lower payments
thanks is advance - Chrissie0 -
Many thanks Molley and Loise, your advise has been great support, brilliant site!0
