    Hi there,

I have a quick question about my new barclaycard platinum. I have taken advantage of the interest free balance transfer. However i'm not sure about the fee. Do they charge interest on the fee? Or does it count as part of the transfer? I couldn't work it out from the terms and conditions.

    Thanks

Yes, but the debt will then be legally yours.
  • 18 month deal now on MBNA site

MBNA visa, following taken from front page on mbna site.

0% on balance transfers for 18 months from the date your account is opened (2.88% handling fee). For this great rate your balance needs to be transferred within the first 60 days of your account opening
0% on money transfers for 18 months from the date your account is opened (4% handling fee). For this great rate your balance needs to be transferred within the first 60 days of your account opening
0% on card purchases for 3 months from the date your account is opened
I have a deep burning indifference

morning, i've just got a couple of reletively simple queries that i think i've covered in the home pages of thite but i thought i'd check.

I've currently got £2k on one credit card and £300 sat on another. I'd like to consolidate these with a balance transfer and pay them off.

if i transfer two cards balances am i charged two fee's? or a fee based on the total amount transferred?

    also,
based on the latest article, it seems to suggest that the barclaycard platinum is my best option as i'm transferring two cards, is that right?

    thanks

The fee is usually a percentage of the amount transferred so although there will be two fees (one for each card transferred from), they'll amount to th same as one fee for the same amount if it were transferred from only one card.
  • Ive just done a double transfer to Barclaycard the fees were £60 and £70 but ive just noticed Barclaycard have given me a £20 balance transfer fee credit, i dont know why but more than happy with them so far :T

that sounds alright, presumably the cash back was something to do with transferring two cards?

Yes you should be able to but not directly. If you can get a credit card that allows you to pay money into your bank account (do not withdraw) do as a balance transfer and then pay your loan off from your bank.
I have transferred money to pay off my overdraft from a credit card with that method.

    Hope this helps
