I'm back on the ward. Surgeon's assistant has just been. All went well. They were able to save parathyroid glands and so far calcium level are fine. 🤞Thyroid has been sent for further analysis of left lobe. 🤞
No hot drinks allowed. Just sipping water at the moment.
Radioactive Iodine treatment won't be for 2 or 3 weeks so I can rest and recuperate first.

Thank you for the update Round. Make sure you rest as much as you can so you can heal quickly x

Take care Round, love and healing vibes x
Paid stuff is quiet, I am a bit bored. Felt a bit flat today.
Gave the kitchen a swish round after tea, emptied DW and refilled. Spoke to DS1 on the phone.

Today's flying has consisted of emptying and refilling the DW, doing a little washing up by hand and that's about it.
Been to outswim cancer and one of our lovely ladies had a little tea and scone fundraiser at her house afterwards so I took a few jars of HM jam - one to go with the scones (I'm a jam first girl) and the others to sell to boost the funds. The sale was in aid of Weston Park hospital.

Thank you Honey Bear8 -
thanks for the update Round - good to hear you are back on the ward. Your recovery is already underway.
I nearly didn't post my paltry efforts but every little helps.
While I batch cooked some daal I cleaned and tidied the cutlery drawer,
The 2 hall runners have been washed, dried and returned to their places. I've bought some sticky pads to hold them down as they have a mind of their own and wander off round the hall on a daily basis.
We did some gardening at my dad's as it's his garden waste collection day tomorrow, the rhododendron I bought my mum for her birthday 10 years ago was looking ropey so I gave it some love and attention. It always flowers on mum's birthday so I need to keep it happy and healthy. We choose to remember and celebrate mum on her birthday rather than on the anniversary of her death.
Finally got round to crushing down some cardboard boxes ready for recycling collection tomorrow.

Ah Blackcats - that's when we remember my sister and now, my mum. We've had mum's first no-longer-here birthday this year.
And they are not paltry efforts.
DW and WM locked and loaded.
Took some sunday dinner uo to step dad; he didn't come yesterday as he went out with his fried (90 and still drives!) for lunch. I was taken to admire the greenhouse - garden went to rack and ruin last year as he hadn't the heart but we have made many trips to the GC and he has lots growing and it is all looking muc
h better
Hope recovery is going well, Round. Presumably you'll be back home resting before long, then.

Thank you Honey Bear8 -
Glad you are now on the ward Round, speedy recovery.
Honeybear I'm exhausted reading all your flying achievements. Take the rest of the year off!
Sorry Jazee I didn't pick up that it was your birthday.
- went to Body Pump
- watered greenhouse and veg
- Mr N and I gave the car its first wash as the poor thing's got so dusty; the track to the lake is responsible. Now nice and shiny for his first long journey to Dorset tomorrow. I had some of the 'special shampoo' over so washed Mr N's car.
- went to Alexander lesson.
- tried on 'funeral clothes' and got ready what I need to take - we're staying overnight with a cousin tomorrow then with SIL the day of the funeral as that will be half way home.
- fiddled with various apps connected to the car; my old phone is making 'full' warnings so I deleted a few old apps but must really cull some photos sometime.
- paid cc bill
- did a few actions from 'flagged' emails
- did some drumming practice
- did some washing up
- one load washing put on and hung out. Bed linen changed.

It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.10 -
@roundtuit - So great to hear you are feeling better and things are improving. Sending lots of hugs for the next steps. We are all sending posivibes for you.

Morning.
How does anyone sleep in these places? Nurse woke me up at 11 pm and again at 2.25 am to take obvs.
Alarm on someone's drip went off about midnight. Alarm on a random piece of equipment no-one has using went off at 3.30 am. I stood that one for so long and then buzzed my alarm.
Hurt my neck at some point because I forgot and moved it. Then laid thinking ouchie for ages.
Little lady across the aisle just got up and went to toilet. She ouches when she gets back into bed. As does the lady in the bed next to her.
Old lady in the bed next to me doesn't get out of bed and is so quiet I was convinced she'd die in the night!
Apart from that I've had a great night 🤣🤣
Will have my first dose of thyroxine this morning. And presumably be discharged later in the day 🤞. DS is picking me up - I'm not ringing him until all the paperwork is ready though 😉
Have a good day

Mostly people don't get a lot of sleep in hospital Round, I'm sorry to say. It was a recurring complaint when I used to deal with them. Sorry you had such a disturbed night, and thank you for letting us know how things are going. * healing vibes * heading your way.
Belovéd has pegged out all the washed towels from last night's load after carpet washing. Forgot to check the big mark to see how that's dried so I've got that to look forward to.
Will be sweeping the front path and checking tomato plants today, and seeing if I can rescue the two cucamelon plants I bought which I've been too busy to deal with. They're surrounded by a lot of dead plants so I can clear those out and see if I can get some basil, chives and thyme seeds going, and empty one of the rotating composters. That'll take the whole morning and I fully intend to take the rest of the day off, apart from going to see our musician friend ex-neighbour's album launch this evening.
