EES role out

Daughter travelled out to Faro this morning. From landing, getting off aircraft, collecting luggage and being on the transfer bus was 40 minutes. No issues with EES and egates as she was already registered.

Absolutely no passport issues, arriving or departing, with our trip to Malta last week (we were already EES registered but didn't see evidence of any first-registration delays either).

Good to know for our trip to Malta in a few weeks.

Just make sure you go through passport control to get to the gates before they announce which gate you're going from, otherwise like us last year we waited in the seating area for the gate to be announced and then had the queues for passport control along with everybody else. It was our first trip to Malta airport. We did make the plane, but only just. After visits to other European countries last year with photo and fingerprints each time, we still had all that done again at Malta.

Queues at most summer holiday destinations will probably be reducing by now, even for new EES registration.

That is becoming a common approach at most EU airports I have been to over the last few years.
