Then (as I alluded to above) it's a bit daft of them to try relying on a system where they are chasing a number plate after the driver has departed.

Maybe they should try and find an approach that doesn't rely on forming a contract with an unknown person...

They aren't. They are relying on enough keepers mistaking it for a real parking ticket and paying up, instead of the spurious fishing expedition that it is.

At an incidental cost of maybe £4/incident and a £60 invoice, they only need 1 in 15 to fall for it to break even.

The law in Scotland was changed to introduce Keeper Liability but it has not yet been enacted.

Section 8 of the Transport (Scotland) Act 2019 if interested.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise it needed an answer.

You drive into a carpark. There are multiple large, clear signs telling you the parking requirements.

OF COURSE you take a moment out of your busy day to read them…
And, yes, I think we can assume that they're going to be accurate and point you to the likely highly visible verification machine in-store.

I am not a habitual Aldidl customer, but I gather these are the machines in use in-store…

I could see the Parking for customer only signs on the maps link which is why I asked.

These in-store screens must be store specific in areas where parking is an issue.

Obviously as already mentioned as the PPC have no idea who the driver is or was then there is no chance of them getting their £90.
